If you only turn up here to attack Andy whenever he returns, you aren't part of the scene, you are just trolling.

 

If Andy left the scene tomorrow then within a few weeks you and Geddy will just stop posting too. If you ever contributed anything when he wasn't around I could sympathise maybe.

You all say if Andy wasn't around the scene would be better, but when he's not around you still don't post. In fact you only ever post when he turns up, so if we keep him around maybe you'll get round to contributing something to the scene rather than not posting at all.

 

Andy wasn't around for a couple of years, was the scene any different, apart from your personal attacks on him and anyone who defends him.

 

You claim to have ACCESS to a host of Sys85 and Sys83 ROMs, if you want the scene to be better, release them. Not for me, but for the members of the scene who don't get embroiled in these arguments. People who are only ever confused and disappointed by these arguments because at the end of the day, they are the ones who lose out.

 

I don't remember System 83 or System 85, I didn't write the tech for my enjoyment, I was born in 1983 so I wasn't in arcades playing those games. I wrote it for the benefit of the scene, for those who can't code, to allow a few people to enjoy what they have waited for all these years and have done nothing wrong.

 

My favorite tech is Impact and I can play that quite happily already, you're not hurting me by holding back resources. The only unemulated techs I really want to play are MPU4 Video, and Epoch. MPU4 video is already in development as part of the new MPU4 C++ dll, and KC's Epoch emulator is on the way too.

 

You can't hurt me by holding back resources because I already have what I need/want to play, you can only hurt the scene and the members that haven't even posted in these threads.

 

And by trying to make yourself sound so important to the scene, but having only posted 66 times in 11 years, you look a bit of a tit. If you have all these ROMs prove it or stfu.

I don't care. I don't need you or any other active member of this forum. I have access to almost any resource I want (excluding old fliers, and some sound roms) but pretty much everything else. It's MY hobby, it took me years to master it, and I enjoy it with a couple of very trusted friends.

 

I just thought id do my duty and warn them of you. But end of the day I don't really care. Yeah I hate you, and if you were brave enough to meet me you would learn just now much I hate you. But as well as being a lying con artist thief your also a wimp..... who knew?

Not going into all of this. Personal reasons are actually valid and are why I left the scene... after hacking PR and making a fool of Cheese LOL - that was a laugh I admit.

 

But anyhow. I HAVE NOT SAID I HAVE SYS83 they were not on the BBS, I think I know someone who does, but im not calling to ask on your behalf. If he does maybe someone filter though for you.

 

I missed a point regarding scripting, BFM makes all its layouts in Photoshop, that is its design tool. The scripts are auto generated and need the dips and other options set to work correctly. So yeah, your hero Tutton cant use layers in photoshop, nor can he set a dip by text.

 

Got to say, you really have made the smart move here mate. Long live  FME, well as long as someone leaks you some ROMS. Lets see how drunk I get tomorrow eh.

I don't want to meet you because I have enough bs in my life without bothering with you. I guess you could say I'm a normal type of guy with a family and friends of my own, thus, I don't take anything or any one online very seriously, you included. 

 

What I think of you doesn't matter, because to let you in my life (IE hate you) I would need to care and apparently I lack empathy. I'm not here to tell people what I think of them as that would make me like them. I'm not. For years and years I've not even bothered with FME because I felt there was no point and nothing to be gained. It's only lately I feel I can contribute again. When I feel I can't I'll simply f*** off again like last time without any fanfare.

 

The fact you could get so annoyed about a person on the internet is actually laughable. Maybe at some point I actually gave a f*** but then thinking about it, nah, I usually had more going on in my life to let it bother me. Easy come easy go, I have my real friends and always did so I really don't need to be making any more.

 

I'm still quite confused about why you even bothered to post here today. This isn't 2004 and there's nothing to argue over now. We all have the same emu, from one coder who is more than willing to help people because that's what he wants to do, improve his emulator.

 

Guitar. I wasn't around for over five years. Nothing changed. The same few spent their entire lives arguing and harassing people until they all walked away. At which point said few walked away also, as they had nothing else to offer. It's only when they feel they can ruin something that they bother to show up. Then they'll just continue banging on until they ruin it for every one else.

 

At one point some one said to me that I was equally as bad as they were. So fine, if that's true then I will f*** off.. And as I said, absolutely nothing changed, there was just one less person with the patience to bang out layouts.

 

Whatever. As far as I'm concerned I've more than proved a point multiple times. This time around I really couldn't give a f***.

If you read my post I put ACCESS to ROMs in capital letters so you would see it. If you know someone who has them, you have access to them. I didn't say you had them.

Erm Guitar I posted here (1st time in over two years to a proper thread) because I was told my name got a mention.)  Curiosity allowed me to read the full thread.  Sorry.  I won't be involved in layouts out of respect.  I have a very good reason to hold myself to that.  I have however done lots and lots of other stuff for FME as you well know and it's all old hat anyway.  I just have a new life now, a lot of health issues and general can't be arsedness.  Wizard killed FME once and for all with that video..... not much left from where I'm sitting, although I have not got a clue about Amber or what it can and can't do because I can't be arsed to read up on all the threads etc....... too much effort sorry.  I'm sure it is great though.  Well done!

My point is that we only see you post when Andy comes back. When he's not here you don't contribute. You have contributed things in the past, but you don't anymore. And by not contributing I mean you don't even post.

 

If the scene is so bad and you can't be arsed then why not just let us get on with it, rather than only ever posting negative comments.

It was, pretty much, the last big group buy I got involved in (albeit I did cough up another couple of hundred in total over the years that followed, this shit left a very nasty taste in my mouth).

I put in a tenner to Alex. I'm pretty sure it was a tenner, though it could have been £20. I didn't say anything because I didn't want any one to know. There's an awful, awful lot of work I've done for people within the scene and have not asked them for any thanks, in fact, I've been specific in making sure I do not get mentioned because of the way people behave and act when I am around.

 

And you're right, I did deny any wrongdoing because it had nothing to do with me. At the time I was living over 3500 miles away in a different country, so quite how I could have been in the UK to meet whoever was collecting the machine would be a load of crap. I did not even come back to visit my family during my entire nine year stay because I am afraid of flying and won't fly.

 

I've been accused of an awful lot within the realms of FME. And it's always led back to one person, and that person is not me. There was one person who would go out of his way to spite and f*** people over and that's Gary.

 

Not only did he hold back the resources and release them as soon as the machine was paid for but he contacted Alex's boss over the McDonalds article Alex wrote (sperm in the milkshake) and Alex was given leave from work. He leaked pretty much anything he was ever given and by all accounts stole emulators and source code from Tony (though whether he actually stole them or Tony handed them over will always be a mystery) and then he leaked it.

 

But the difference between Gary and any one else was that he always did his best to blame some one else for his actions. As such I've been blamed for an awful lot of nasty shit that I didn't play any part in. He even tried blaming the last leak he dropped on me (the source and S4/MPU5) but was caught out by an email he sent me where he sent me a version of MFME I did not even have that was three years newer than the version I had, that coincidentally I had for three and a half years and never passed to a solitary soul.

 

And now I got DS here after eight years trying to blame me for something else. Sorry, not f*****g having it. If he's still throwing a childish moronic sulk after eight years then so be it. LOL it does make me laugh that some one could hold a grudge for that long. How silly.

 

I stopped getting personal with members of the FME scene a f*****g long time ago. That means no IM, no PM, nothing. I do not reply to PMs because I simply do not care for, nor want to get involved in bullshit. I'm 40 years old for f***'s sake and I've pretty much grown up within this scene. I have no plans to start acting like I did a decade ago.

I've finished with FME anyway; whilst I may sign off at The Mecca with a few last stories (a few people like them there, but you're right - none of these emulate so much as a single diode of hardware nor one pixel of art), I haven't bothered with FME proper for a very long time; like many others MFME4 was the killer blow for me, though not in quite the same way as the mainstream viewpoint. I do like the fact that others still do care and the scene is moving forwards, though; I don't want to get in anyone's way, spoil their hobby, or piss off those who DO continue to contribute and/or have started to contribute again. I didn't like that stuff the other day and still don't, but hey.

It's going to be more than just a basic DX. The machine will carry authentic sounds too, so it should get the adrenaline going.

I will just pop in to say a few words.

 

1) There are some innaccuracies in what is being reported in this thread on all sides but I'm not going to start picking posts apart or issuing corrections because seriously guys, it really doesn't matter. With the benefit of hindsight it didn't even matter much at the time, let alone now. Besides which on some of the stuff my memory isn't 100% anyway and I certainly don't have the inclination to start trawling through historical emails or IRC logs or forum archives or anything else, stuff like PEN#1 happened, it was a bit of a shitter, no one got killed, life moves on.

 

2) I have as much if not more reason than most to harbour grief and rancour over what happened in the hardocre FME years, and I certainly had some of the worst IRL crossover. But you know what? I harbour no hatred and no ill feelings, a lot of shit went down, most of us dealt out our fair share of it too (let he who is without sin and all that), we were all younger and had a fire in our bellies for FME and everything associated with it, and yet here are folks arguing about stuff that happened a decade or more ago - seriously guys, let it go. Looking back now I feel sorry for the person who tried to get me in shit at work, because it's a measure of the stuff in his own head and not a rational thing to do, and I empathise with that person.

 

3) I fully acknowledge my own mistakes back in the day, I've made peace with those who I can and made my apologies. I can't turn back time, knowing what I know now if I could go back and do it all again I'd make different choices, but of course no such option is available to me, or indeed anyone else. I made my f***-ups and I'm not proud of them, but I can say that my passion was for FME, sometimes to the detriment of what were the right choices.

 

4) Try and drop the hate, some of you folks are arguing over stuff that went down over a decade ago like it was yesterday, I swear this thread could have dropped through a timewarp from Fruit Forums in 2002, it's bizarre. Life is too short for this sort of shit, it really is. Any of us could get hit by the proverbial bus tomorrow, focus on what's important, friends and family, and just enjoy the emulation, don't f*****g fight over it, it's supposed to be fun! Seriously, there isn't one single person on this scene I wouldn't sit down for a beer with, even the guy who tried to f*** me up at work, because one of the finest things we have in our power as human beings is the ability to reason and discuss and rationalise, even shit that was completely irrational at the time. (Remember I did once take my own car apart with a f*****g rock )

 

5) I'm still very much into FME even though I don't follow current developments much, although it does sound like Amber has really come along so I should probably find the time to check it out. But yeah, I'd say I fire up a fruit machine emulator a couple of times a week even now and have a rattle through some of my favourite machines - and I'm eternally grateful to every single person who helped to make that magic happen (Most recently I had a mega-session on JPM's Money Talks to see if I could force out an insane Big Money streak by refusing everything for a long, long time - but it didn't work )

 

So yeah, peace out, enjoy the emulation, and more importantly enjoy life - because not one of you has the first idea what tomorrow might bring. I'm not getting involved with any of the arguments in this thread, so I'll leave it at that

Sadly this old banger of a laptop won't run Amber, but I'm (finally) buying a new one soon, so I'll be sure to spec it accordingly. Must admit, those WIP pics look good, and if any machine is gonna get the juices flowing again it's Line Up...
