This project has been started by Cheese and is in its early stages

Cheese Quotes

The aim of this project is to develop a front end which is comparable to the mame32 frontend.

Some features:
- .MDB database backed
- Supporting Information from Trouty's dats within opensourced database (user submissions are easy)
- CRC Crosscheck to ensure right files (layout, rom and emulator) are being used
- Zip support (should be useful for renamed zips and people with large rom directories)
- Support all FME Emu's
- Support Screenshots/flyers
- Configure each game individually
- Add commantary notes to each game

The engine is up and running with games being recognised and displayed.

I still have to script a lot of it but it is working really well for the BFM stuff at the moment.

Here is an early screenshot

This looks great, very in keeping with the likes of Mame32's front end, I expect this to be a worth while addition to the FME scene.

Keep us all posted.

There has been an update on FMEFE :

Hi All,

If your interested heres how gamebase will be released this week.

It will come in two versions: a stable release and a beta release.

The stable release will aim, obviously with stabilty in mind, but will have less frequent updates, and be more well tested.

The beta releases will be basicially a live working build but will be more complete, more features etc updated with regular updates (every few days).

The stable release will come out first with support for a few games (I will create a special booster pack to test it with), while the first beta release will be the last version I had since the great hard drive crash. The beta content will change soon after though as theres has been dat changes as time has past.

GamebaseFM will have information on more than emulated fruities, including games based on mpu5 and scorp 4. The idea is to make the application a more information resource based application. Big job but it will be good as a continuing project.

I'm aiming for a weds release. Fingers crossed!

Cyberpunk:- alienated loner who lives on the edge of society in generally dystopic future where daily life is impacted by rapid technological change, an ubiquitous datasphere of computerized information, and invasive modification of the human body.....Hmmmmm

So does this mean MPU5 and Scorp 4 will be emulated in this game?

Gamebase will be released soon, so watch this space!

GamebaseFM will run on 98/ME/2000 & XP, it does not fix any current issues with the emulators as it is simply a front end to them.

So no new technologies emulated, but will be able to hold information and pictures on currrently unemulated machines.

Will it have what you've put in/ had out of the machines in it too like the MFME?

So you can aim to stay "up" on the machines :)

It takes alot of the fun out imo on the jpm and bell fruit emulators with no way to track what you've put in/had out of the game!

Btw, looking great :D
