Might blow your monitor up if you set it on that maximum setting!

seeing its an SIS chipset i'd be inclined to agree
i got an SIS graphics ship in my laptop
used some software to increase screen resoloution past its max (1280 x 800) and my monitor just blacked out
had to try and guess where system restore was as i couldnt see a thing
even plugging an external monitor didnt help
working now so just be careful

thats because it was a resolution that your monitor can't handle basically. All well and good being able to push resolutions up to silly levels but it'll do nothing more for you than tax the living bejesus out of your graphics chip and slow everything down to a crawl.
Set you monitor to its native resolution, thats the resolution that its all going to look best at, mine is 1600 X 1200, anything else just doesn't look quite right but at that resolution it looks perfect.
Being able to set your monitor at higher resolutions sadly doesn't mean your graphics card is capable of running games and such at that level....

I found a tweaking tool for my Nvidia GFX that allowed me to overclock the pre-set resolutions.
However i knew this was risky but it had a built in 'failsafe' function in the program..dont what its like on craptops but every time i tried to up my res that wee bit more..my moniter would go black and say 'Out of Range' and revert back to the previous setting.
