have you tried joining the site, if so you'll need to post a few times beforehand then afters we would like it if you joined in with the site but doubt that'll happen

I've just tried to register over at DIF and it tells me I have to post on an introductions forum/thread to get votes in order to be added as a user, but the introductions forum isn't actually accessible - is it just a case of sitting on my hands and waiting or is something broken?

When the account is approved you can do that.

Ah. Okay, the message gave me the impression I had to post to be approved at all, and clicking the link was just circular back to the same page saying I needed to post I have now been able to post! Thanks for the speedy reply.

I registered over at DIF 2 days ago and am still waiting to be approved. How long does it usually take?

Finally got hold of a computer that can run Win10 and want to download the emulator.

This site admin/owner, nicknamed Reg on DIF and here, approves all new sign ups personally, which avoids most duplicate and all bot accounts.

He's around the place most days, but if he isn't around for a few days, then approval can be delayed.

Once approved, do a decent introduction post and you'll get the 4 rep points, you need to be able to download.

If unclechicken is taken, are you 100% sure, you haven't set up an account maybe 3 or 4 years ago and forgotten. Duplicate accounts risk a ban. 

I have tried to sign up a few times now over the last year or so. It didnt like my hotmail email and when i put my work email in and register i never recieve the email to confirm my account (yes i checked junk). Gave up in the end

The last year has been a bit difficult due to a change of admin.

Try your internet providers email or Yahoo, which I signed up through.

I'd imagine work emails won't work, because they are a way to create duplicate accounts via work and home emails.

You signed up as Pappy46 and posted on 9th Feb this year...

...you are now in the Duplicate Account groups as you created another account called mrrix.

You did have a perfectly good working account and you posted to the New Members area and got the required rep to be in before you made a duplicate account this week.

We also have a no under 18 policy and both those accounts have DIFFERENT birthdays.

Sorry but Pappy46 is not me. There is another person at my work place that also likes playing the fruits (and knows about emulation because of me). That is why there is a different date of birth, a different username and a different email address?

Well it's not that hard to setup a different email, DOB and username.

The IP address was VERY UNIQUE.

But why would i do that? Not everybody is out to make multiple accounts you know... Its pretty easy to see the username i have on here is the same username i tried to make an account with. And it IS POSSIBLE that 2 people from the same work place have an interest in old fruits. Anyway it doesn't matter, like i said above i had given up trying to register i was just stating that i had issues when trying to do so
