Well since no one is providing evidence I will.  Here is the gam file from a recent release from here via the DVD.  As you can see the Slots R Us name is in there, why would I do that? (Which will probably disappear once the layout is loaded unless he's saved it in the layout.  Altering the GAME line in the gam file reverts once the game is loaded, some do not get this...)  Also since EVERY single layout I have is renamed for use in the DATS why would I upload via an FTP ones that are not named, that would make double the work for me.  Rename them one way for Slots R Us then rename them again for the DAT file.  It makes absolute no sense what so ever.

So unless anyone has real proof I've done something to help the sale of these DVDs I suggest you just keep your opinions to yourself because I will defend myself and I do not care who I have to do that against.

As no evidence was found that the seller was downloading from here ( or anywhere else ), and he stated that the layouts he obtained had no captions in them to start with, it naturally raised suspicions.

The guy Selling the DVDs implicated you in the first place. Though it doesn't matter where or how he obtained them as he has already said he adds his logo to stop other people stealing and reselling from him.

As you seem to have a continual lack of understanding as to how it works I will say it again, the GAME entry in the .gam file is taken from the Caption in the fml file when a game is run, so it will be overwritten every time. The purpose of this GAME entry in the gam file is so that the manager doesn't have to open the fml file to discover the game name to display, this considerably speeds up the scan.

 

The layout dats had their fml files edited to remove the caption, fact.

 

I hope that clears it up once and for all.

Indeed but you assumed I was involved in the supply line.  No evidence.  Maybe it would have been better to obtain evidence before posting.  Is this behaviour any different to a few members being 'suspicious' over Benmoose's identity???

 

I'll say this once more.  When you/Reg/others came out and where horrified I'd altered the captions on some layouts for uniformity in the DATS (very small number, all pre-v5 only have the GAME line altered) I have not done this since, in fact I've over 200 layouts sitting on my HDD that have never even been unzipped.  I made a promise I would not update the layout DATs since and I have not out of respect to you and other's wishes.  To which I get the reward of being blamed in being complicit to supplying DVDs to be sold for profit.

 

This Slots R Us guy may or may not have ordered a DVD set from me (I have names and addresses off all who have) but if he did the layouts would be named like the DAT, the ones from the thread have not so that is more evidence they have not come from me.  However it points to an individual who has FME/MFME knowledge, how to get layouts, how to alter GFX and GAM files and does not give a shit if he rips the scene off or will do anything for money.... mmm should I jump to the obvious conclusion here? 

 

So why I do not expect an apology for being implemented in all of this I at least hope you can stop jumping to conclusions or at least find evidence to support your suspicions before posting.  Yes I understand you are pissed and rightly so but then you are the ONLY person who should be as all the layout creators and complaining about their 'work' being altered when all the DXs ever made have 'altered' the original artists work without permission, where does the buck stop?

I know how it works or I would not have been able to do it.

 

FACT - pre v5 layouts have only the gam file line altered which will revert.

FACT - a small number of post v5 layouts have the caption altered and saved which means they will not revert.

FACT - Over 200 layouts are sitting here unzipped. 

FACT - I promised I would not make the layout DATs anymore and I have not. 

FACT - I'm still getting accused of spoiling FME land without any conclusive proof.

Yes I know it did.  I didn't agree but in the interests of FMEHarmony I agreed to not do it again which I have not.  The only thing altered now would be the the game line like pre v5 which of course reverts back.

But again I do not have an FTP server but I'm concerned why this cock womble is linking himself with me.  Again I can point the finger but that would be with me just being suspicious...

In my opinion the only issue the layout designers should have is the fact that whoever is selling the DVD is passing off the work as his own.  The people who make the layouts can't scream it's copyright theft because i suspect they have been infringing the copyright law for years (which i'm not complaining about because i love their work).  Again i could be wrong, but the only person who has grounds to claim copyright theft is the creator/s of MFME if the person selling the DVD is including it on the DVD.

 

If the layout designers and MFME creator want to be compensated for the time they give in order to create the layouts they should charge a small fee (which i for one wouldn't be against).  If the majority of people who download on here are like me thoroughly enjoy and appreciate all the work released by the different creators, i'm sure they wouldn't mind showing their appreciation by giving a small financial reward for the effort involved.

Will £9.99 be ok per download if so that's me sorted and can aAmusement's back date my pay please should work out at around 50k lol
Paying for individual downloads will never and shouldn't happen, the reason is as explained above Afaik if we use the manufacturers machines art and ROMs on the understanding NO monies are accepted for each emulation produced, This is also why us normally friendly members here are pee'd off with these dvd sellers flogging the material against the agreements made?
So this is why the only "donation' you can pay is to upgrade your download allowances and help towards the sites financial costs.
If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me in time?
