Plus are you expecting him to ACTUALLY put his hand in his pocket and then fetch the machine etc etc?... 

If someone posts that we need a machine for resources then I rather expect that they'll do their homework first, even if they can't or won't do the legwork!

Something to double check in future before posting?

There does indeed appear to be a certain selectiveness with which posts are replied to...

....but he does contribute a great deal layout wise.  A lot of layouts.   No one is perfect, at least he balances things out with his layout output.

Doesn't excuse an apology to Alex or anyone else that may have been willing to do the donkey work.

Ignoring or avoiding the issue is pretty poor imho and is another reason why i offer very little or ask for very little these days.

Too many want, very few are willing to put effort in other than the parts that require minimal effort.

Making the layouts is the tip of the iceberg. Actually obtaining resources is the harder, costly part of the whole project.

Let's face it, if one person didn't make a layout for a certain machine, someone else would sooner or later.

I'm Sorry i didn,t do the homework first, i saw a machine for the BIN of one pound and copied the link before someone else grabbed it, yes i should've checked the downloads beforehand, but again we're not all perfect unlike some may think.

In future i won't bother posting on on here if i see anything on fleabay or the like as to avoid criticism and backlash,

 As for resources yes i know they can cost money etc before any layouts made.

  i really thought the darker times of a few years ago had long gone but as usual they will always re-surface again and again.

Maybe i should think before i type on here.

 

 Again we ALL make mistakes and are certainly not perfect in this turbulent world!!!!

No, it isn't like he made anyone buy resources FFS. I believe if i remember right the same person encourages the purchase of resources but has never done much, if anything to contribute to obtaining them.

 

Yes, he seems to churn layouts out from readily available resources. As said, if he didn't, someone else would, they probably have but never upped them anywhere.

 

Yes, the darker times from a few years ago have brightened, it can easily descend back to how it was, they will resurface all the time thoughtless topics like this are made.

Aplogies to all...  apart from Alth  I just re-read and I see where the issue was, for me at least.  I thought it was about the initial resource link, but Vecs might not have realised we already have a DX and possible resources for this particular machine and could of offered up an apology sooner.

 

Again sorry for my post....  I think I'm about ready to move on to something that doesn't enrage me hobby wise or at least stop getting involved in forum posting.

I didn't ask anyone to buy it, maybe they should've read the eBay listing too before buying it?

As for resources isn't it up to the individual members whether he or she shares them,
Again as said I will not bother posting anymore links for resources.
Most of my latest mfme5 layouts are from resources I've found and not begged for, but don't worry on the next release I will thank everyone right down to the machine manufacturer and their graphical designers and their canteen staff.
Rant over and subject closed!!!!

People also often get enraged when topics start getting locked...

I don't see the problem with having a calm and rational discussion about whether someone who states unequivocally that a resource is required should have done basic checks first.
