Hi guys

wonder if anyone can help? I am trying to download a couple of emulators and it requests you to wait 100 seconds. after waiting the file doesn't download? also having an error popping up 'Layout not found' and none of the other emulators that I used to have work anymore. I have versions 9.4,9.9 and 10.1 cant find any version 5 or 6.

thanks

Ben

You need to make a few dozen posts and more here, before you can get limited download.

The newest emulators are only available at www.desertislandfruits.com. You'll also find numerous machines not available here.

Sign up, make a decent introductory post with a bit about yourself and your fruit machine likes and dislikes.

That way, you'll get some reputation and be able to start to download. Limited downloads are available each month, unless you make a small donation every year or so.

Forget v9.4,9.9,10.1, they are extremely old. You'll need v5.1 and v6.1 if you are on WIndows XP, 7 or 8. Or v20 if you are on Windows 10.

Hi ben19smurf

you will have to go to this website if you want to download mfme 5.1 & mfme 6.1  https://www.fruitemu.co.uk/ib/ and go to https://www.fruitemu...er=forums&id=31 to download them but you will have to become a member first.

The limitation on needing some posts or reputation is really badly executed - the link works, makes you wait 100 seconds and then gives an non-descriptive error.

Why not just block out the "download" button with "You need to have higher reputation" to make it clear and avoid these issues?

Appreciation for this 'microverse' is high, but situations as described above (and similar limiting actions elsewhere) just creates lost time and increases frustration within an already ready fractured playing field.

Protectionism of this sort is (imho) covetous and self harming.

Additionally, as a noob: would have been great to see a simple glossary of emu language - as relatable to scene.
I have no idea why some images for d/l are polished images while others look like homebrew machines or why and what of file types used to mention just a couple of starter snags without the seemingly bewildering version control.
A wiki style guide front n centre for all mfme related asset types.

But, I'm a noob:what do I know..
Cheers.

Hello JimmytheNugg

You will have to post over 30 active posts. When you have done that you will be moved out of New Members and in to the Regulars group then you should be able to download the layouts.

Hi nuelle

The site owner is only really interested in the donations that Gullible people make. He is not going to make it easy for you download the layouts for free. Do not waste your time making a donation on this site for very old and outdated layouts just join up at desert island fruits.
