Hello. Im Richard and Im New to all this but last week I bought a 1990s Red Hot Fever machine by BWB. Paid £30 for it a bought it as a non worker. I just loved the look of it and bought it purely as a decorative thing. Got it home and wondered if I could at lest get it to light up. So I read up, did some research and stripped out the MPU4 board. Sure enough the battery had leaked all over the board. The tracks were pretty messed up. So out came the soldering iron, multimeter and some good lighting. I tracked, traced and bridged all the broken copper, put the board back in. Replaced a fuse in the PSU and bingo ! It works !

The machine now boots and the reels spin as it does its power on self test. It has no alphanumeric Display but uses the leds on the machine front. Displays E4.1 (or E41?) as it boots then appears to be ready and goes into attract mode with all the flashing lights.

It will accept a coin which shows as a credit. And the start buttons flash ready. But as soon as you hit then to start a spin the alarm goes off and it displays E9.1 (E91?) which is a fatal error and the machine must be restarted to cancel.

Ive had a look at the manual and forum posts but can find anything. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have done as much as I can so far but now need expert advice.

Best wishes
Richard

Hi Shaun and thanks for the welcome and reply. I have tried the website you have mentioned as there are lots of enthusiasts on there. But there validation emails don’t seem to be working despite me trying several different email addresses and actually contacting their admin without any response. So feeling a bit frustrated.

Can't find a BWB manual that lists those errors but MDM have 4.1 as 10p Hopper Alarm, and 9.1 as switch settings Alarm

Thanks Wizard for taking the time to look and reply. Thats great and very much appreciated. At least I think now I can go in that direction. I will keep the post updated for the benefit of others who may have a similar error. 👍

wow that pic bough back some memories!

when it was originally released it was a 675 quid jackpot (3x3x3 x25jp) on a stunning 2.70 per play.

sadly the gaming commission was born and s16/32 was declaired illegal and thus the derogatory category b3 was introduced.

good luck with your project.
