Anyone intentionally setting up multiple accounts in order to bypass the free downloads limitations will be banned permanently.

Recent repeated incidences of this are now jeopardising the future of the current universal daily download limit that all site users currently enjoy.

Solutions are being investigated so hopefully that won't be necessary...

Maybe a good idea to clear out zero posters to. Back to download allowances if you're a newbie can you download straight away or do you have to make a certain amount of posts , if its the first one then maybe a post count could be introduced like the Mecca has and even better for the good of the site , say you need to make a minimum of five or even ten posts then acfurther ten posts per month or every three to six months to continue downloading data that way the site gets hopefully more varied topics/posts.
Edit to add maybe if a member joins offer them the geddy DVD service so all games can be obtained via DVD that way the site gets income and less data usage if geddy still offers a donation from the DVD sales that is!

We tried minimum posts requirement not that long ago, most will remember it as being a pain generally.

Our costs are pretty much fixed regardless of data usage, it's the principal that is the issue here - why should site supporters pay when others come along and circumvent the limits?

Perhaps the site should start selling the DVDs on eBay like some of the members are already doing...

Shame this wasn't instigated when someone else had multiple accounts ;)

I found this site after buying a dvd off ebay, imagine my surprise when joined here and found out that the stuff I'd paid for was other peoples work, which he'd got for free, and then my disgust when I realised he was and still is, a supposedly 'valued' and long standing member on here, who has often moaned about others doing it.  Talk about double standards!

The dvd came with an 'extra bonus' a disk with a video of how to do the Golden Game/Monopoly emptier, with the guy playing the machine and narrating what to do.

:(

It's a reasonable point for discussion - I'll raise it with the mod team.

Totally pointless me saying as nothing would happen, apart from I'd get a load of aggro.  From past experience there's no point in telling the powers that be, as even with unequivocal proof, I'm never believed.

Needless to say, he knows who he is.

Ehh banditboy!!! The posts would need to be more than a letter or two like a thank you or just get em more involved within the site would be beneficial. As said members whom haven't posted for plus six months should have the accounts not necessarily banned but blocked from downloading until a reasonable amount of posting is resumed.

This thread has become wandering and confused?

We did try minimum post rules a while back, it was an unworkable nightmare.

Multiple accounts?

I'm all-on trying to remember the password and log-in details for this account now!

I still regularly try and sign in with my old account ( closed... so I haven't a duplicate ;) ) only to be told that I don't have privileges and rights to do so - then remember that I am using this account now!  :bigeyes19:

Oh the joys of forgetfulness! :p

Timely reminder... I'm still giving people the benefit of the doubt and just deleting the duplicates but prolific and repeated offenders get banned...
