Yo guys, don't know if this has been discussed fully in a thread. As some of you know, I go to Middleton Cheney to see my dad quite regularly. He has no intention of getting Wi-Fi, and there are no networks available to join, all need passwords. So can I play party time or a 3 player machine without Wi-Fi?

Yes you don't need internet access to play the 3 player games on MFME. You need to type your local IP address into MFME Preferences window. I believe MFME 5.1 automatically finds and puts your IP address into the preference screen so you should just be able to play without setting anything up

Actually that's not entirely true,
As you all know I was using neighbours wifi for free, she's recently switched it off for some reason for the last few days, I tried playing partytime and it states no comms error same happens with others
So it appears you need some access to play them, finally if you use a different Internet would you need a different ip address?

Just use a local IP instead of an internet IP... MFME will have auto filled it with internet IP when you had it. Thats my guess.

yep till now lasted four yrs of free net lol, anyways getting our own at last in a few weeks £32 for up to 76mb/s unlimited plus 5gb's for mobile so i'll close my tablet account down when it comes and use that for works time, just hope it works lol

anyways back to the original question and i am wrong the three player do work with NO internet connection, if you have mfme5.1, withn perferences click "find" on the righthand side of the IP address and it finds an alternative number and it works

I have found, if i wanna play any of these 3 player machines in MFME 5 or MFME 5.1 anywhere else apart from Home use, you do not need internet access. I find before leaving home with laptop in tow, turn off your internet access on your laptop and then you will find you can play anywhere. :) But i did find, if you put internet on when out and about it does come up with the COMS ERROR. fffs grrrrr.

Welcome to fruit-emu Partytime, thanks for the info. I will try that. If not, I am not totally doomed as I can at least play riverboat gambler and celebration which are 1 player astra games. Maybe soon Bullion bars will be emulated? I remember the old-style 1 player game, Spa did a youtube vid of it, really loud and speaker distorted loads lol. If the machine alarmed, It'll be so loud it'll deafen the whole arcade! Trust me, I had an MP3 of the Astra alarm, not pleasant!
