Yes I know we've got a new mfme5 emulator that does everything we all wished for and I'm grateful just like everyone else.
But what, if it was possible would you like to see in a future mfme update?
Personally in a players view I'd like to see online play but wizard has his reasons not to go there atm, but couldn't something like fruit-emu's very own arcade section host a few zip files with different challenges in them, like get a jackpot in the fewest credits, biggest bank etc.

Next from a designers view is there any way some of photoshops elements couldn't be incooperated into the design tools of mfme, especially for classic type layouts like for instance could we be able to design our own lamp shapes as in a arrow for trails, or a heart for extra life using a lasso type tool, so you'd be able to choose like you do now rectangle, circle triangle or make your own!
Which of course you'd colour in the usual manner
And couldn't a Omni type tool be installed for lighting up the squares, shapes or even text? As if these were in place it would give classic layouts a better design.

The more I do today, The less I do tomorrow.
Fme is alive and screaming into the 21st century!
Enjoy FME and Happy Gaming!!!!

Probably talking the impossible here but with how things have been going, thinking it might be possible one day haha

Maybe a global progressive with leaderboards. Don't matter what machine you play each spin adds to the progressive which could be like 4 values, bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Everyone who is playing adds to this total and there is a chance of it paying out with every spin. When someone is lucky enough to activate the progressive then a game pops up and they have to either play a scratch card or pick a pot and this will be one of the progressives. A notifcation will be sent to all players that "Player X has one progressive Y"  (Bronze will pay 100x more often than platinum etc). This will require internet access and a connection to the progressive server and will require a lot of coding but will make playing even more fun as any moment you could get the progressive popup.

I like the arcade idea, having a few top favorite machines for people on here to play and the challenges on who can get the most out of it for £10, who can make the most daily etc.

Great thread :D

I have had a private discussion with wizard about this, but fixed road hog (original and club) sample fixes when playing the machine but they come up with the right frequencies in the samples window.

If this had happened at least a few years ago I believe I would've been full of ideas, zest and enthusiasm...

Time, and memory, have sadly advanced more than I would have liked since the last MFME update 10 years ago, along with my interests and concentration to keep up with all the layouts.

Some are beautiful... Pook from DX'Cellent, Ploggy, DAD, JohnnyAFC and captain haddock spring to mind for DX and classic layouts - it is great to see them all back in the saddle and it is also very encouraging for all FME sites that newer members are taking the challenge and stepping up for some of the lost talent we've lost in the barren years.

I do pop in now and again... I have downloaded some layouts, but sadly, unlike almost a decade ago when all I had a computer for was MFME - they may get played once a week, if that and only for 10 minutes or so... I just can't get 'back into it' and I regret that very much.

Chris (Wizard) has put some very hard work into MFME 5 - he has faced some opposition (from me in the past) from MAME etc, but resolved it all and released this new upgrade that I am sure will bring some new blood into a scene that was dying a death - that is great... It means that for many more years to come, FME with the MFME upgrade and update, will continue to flourish and survive with a lot of techs still to do and layouts to be revisited, but sadly, I don't think I will really be taking part in the full journey of it - mainly because I can't keep up with it all - and mainly because my love and zest for MFME and FME has died.

I do wish FME well for the future, I really do... I hope that there are many more updates for it too and that scene, unlike past endeavours, get along with each other and encourage each other in what can (and in my case was) be a very wonderful journey.

Love and peace,

Daryl  x

I'd love to see more swp techs like epoch swp so we can play London Underground the quiz machine.

htc vive and android support (android for set top boxes, TVs etc, layout on the tv and the buttons on your mobile/tab!!) :D

a pipe dream i know but there is not much else that springs to mind :p

a way to block clear money in and out off all machines without affecting things like volume and other settings.

a volume slider for each tech in the config. (not easy either probably)

Impossible!  RAM clear clears everything including set volume.

Anyone could create this element, and just link it up to the current emulator. I've toyed with the idea myself but I don't think I've got much programming skill when it comes to online elements. All we need is a front end which after a game is closed, it uploads the ram file to a central database, and then when someone loads a game on the front end, it pulls the latest version of the ram file to their computer and opens it in MFME. When the player finishes and closes MFME, the new RAM file is uploaded and replaces the old one, ready for the next player. But there is a lot more to make the front end properly functional, like the locking of ram files when someone is in play and security to stop the files being tampered with. One day I'm sure someone will have a go at this, and I would love to see it personally.

Yes Wizard, pretty please ;-) Updating the gam file on the fly or adding a simple shortcut key like 'F8 to save the gam file' would help heaps as then we can pull the latest coin OUT figures without having to close the emulator. That would be great.

I am starting my degree in Computer Science this year in which at some point I am required to do a project, if all goes well I might be able to take this up and use it towards it. Although it won't be until next year I will be able to sort it. That's if someone hasn't already cracked it by then :)

i have already tried this in the past and due to lack of interest canned it (twice) i have started it again (this time having a web app with an accompanying (exe to upload the ram file) but im only toying with it in my free time, i have no plans to make it public as that would be pointless if past experience is anything to go by.

I'd certainly be very excited to see this. Shame about the lack of interest in the past. Maybe put the feelers out for it again if you would still be interested in developing it further.

Id like to see full screen mode which was removed from later versions,

* Also ability to open and play up to 3 machines in one window

*"Game Manager" to have a stop button that actually works for whenever an accidental clicking on it

erm, tough one to answer given the massive release he has blessed us with.

obviously filling in other techs, especially the very last barcrests for me, but scrolling or scalling is a must for me - see the picture!

LG 38" 4k ultra wide screen. 3840x1600.

Decided to ditch my multi screen setup in favour of this bad boy. its 21:9 so i get no borders on a letterbox film. Had to but a 1080 gfx card to keep up and have a dedicated 75hz cable connection, although the monitor itself is freesync.

oh, and the graphics card is water cooled.... were all gamblers here in one for or another, including ex.  i walked into my local corals was £200 and got up to £3300, just by playing 29 neighbours.

i did the decent thing, walked out with the lot on my card and bought things for myself, the kids and the wife. im in no illusions, i know i`ll go back. but it will be with the stock £200 and that payfor date night with the wife, drinks meals and a few spins.

heres a little game, now apart from the obvious SEAGATE in the right hand corner, where is my hard drive ?
