Hey guys.. this is my first released design,... (This download has the reels fixed... no more applying lol)
So please tell me what you think.

You've obviously put some effort into it, which is good, and I'm sure you've learned some valuable stuff from people...
But I hate Hybrids. Sorry, I know I made one in the past (Big Brother, based on the Bangin Away ROMs), but I've regretted it ever since. All it does is make people assume that stuff which can't be emulated can be. It's nothing like playing the original machine with the correct artwork + program combo, and to be honest it distorts the concept of emulation.
Still, as far as it goes, it's not that bad a layout, especially considering it's your first. You must have bought the old monitor Mythicos used to work on though, so I expect a pair of sunglasses in the post
I'm sure you'll make some more good layouts in the future, but I'm hoping they won't all be Hybrids of recent machines.

As i have mentioned to you a nice first attemp at it.... There no better way to learn than trying and learning from your mistakes. Im sure some members on here remember my first layout and let me tell you it wasnt pretty lol.
As ben metioned the contrast does seem to be a bit high on it but that could easily be down to your moniter and you probly see it differently to us.
The other thing is that in your next layout id try to have a go at some transparency in the lamping. This is just so that if the graphic lamps in the emu are overlapping then its best to make unused parts of the lamp transparent so that lamps which are close to each other dont overlap and mix in with each other (some layouts will hardly need any transpareny at all, yet other may need it on almost every lamp, all depens on the layout). Im sure transparency is covered in the guides that are available on this site so take a look at them they are very helpful.
Other than that congrats on your first layout matey and i hope its the first of many.

And yup... more layouts will follow, i really enjoyed making this one.
Sorry about the contrast, i will make the background image a bit brighter and the lamps a bit dimmer... and i will also do the whole transparent lamp thingamajigger,

Nice effort but as pointed out its not nowhere near Dambusters it looks like a turd, plays like a turd but then again its not Dambusters.

Jesus H Christ on a bike how many times do you f***witts need telling a hybrid is NOT no way near the f*****g original machine example : PCB is still Banging Away using the PCB artwork in exactly the same way this is not Dambusters the machines 'look' alike but play totally and utterly a different game. Not to mention n00bs with the 'OMG THEY GOT DAMBUSTERS BUT WAIT THE APLHA SAYS A DIFFERENT MACHINE AND IT PLAYS DIFFERENT' kind posts. okies m8... i know exactly what your saying, hybrids are not the real machine, i didnt want to try and make it sumthing it isnt... HOWEVER...
I wanted to try sumthing completely new, as it was my first ever Dx,
thats y i did a hybrid.
I only wanted to try out sumthing new, I.e design my own layout, tbh, i dont care if noone wants to play it, i just did it for a laf, moreover, i could have just not released it, but i thought id see wot people thought of my work, and if it was worth me doing new ones.
I just want to get along with everyone, feel i really fit in, and release my artwork, so hopefully, SOMEONE will enjoy Vindaloot in a different cab an artwork.
