Hi all,

Myself and Reg have been asking the Michael (the creator of mGalaxy) if he would do a fruit-machine theme for it so we can use it on our cabs.

He just got back to us today to say he's sorted one out.

Here's how it looks....

Attached File  fruit.jpg   82.77KB   2 downloads

He's put it in the official 'theme' pack (this is a pack you get if you pay for the 'premium' version of mGalaxy).

The mGalaxy software (http://www.mgalaxy.com/) is free but the theme pack comes with a small fee.

It works great on the cabinet so, if you're building a cab and want a good front end then try mGalaxy out and see what you think.

(Someone else on here had good results with Launchbox as well - so always worth having a look at that too).

:)

Thanks I took a look at this and find it far easier to use then rocket launcher/Hperspin with regards to setting up sytems.

A couple of questions if anybody could answer.

1) Does it play jpemu and bfemu I tried jpm but wouldn't work so didn't know if there was a workaround

2) how do you set media for the attract/select game screen

3) where do databases go?

In time I'm looking to create a cab, by then one of you guys might be in the game of making prefabbed cabs [I want split for the idea :)

Hi Danny

I can answer two of those questions....

The media goes in a folder that you set inside mGalaxy "runway" (this is just the 'setup' program for mGalaxy where you point it at where the .exe is for each emulator and then set up the various bits and bobs for each emulator).

The database is a file called xmlout.xml and it lives in the following path...

C:/Program FIles(x86)/mGalaxy/Data/UserSystems/MFME-wPEAJ3R6/

I'm not sure what the "wPEA3J" stuff is at the end of the MFME folder name but that might change on your system?

You can only use the database file if you've bought the premium version of mGalaxy. All it lets you do is rename the game files and put them in whatever order you want. I find it handy because the game file might be "redhotpoker" but I can name it "Red Hot Poker" so it looks better.

Hope that helps mate and I really hope you have a stab at making a cabinet. There's plenty of support on here for cabinet building and it's great playing Wizard's creation on a full blown cabinet.

:)

In the xml file you put the actual game file name (game name) and then what you want it called (description) e.g.

  <game name="redhotpoker" cloneof="" tgdbID="" hidden="False">
    <fileinfo extension="" MD5="" size="" />
    <description>Red Hot Poker</description>
    <release />
    <overview />
    <genre />
    <players />
  </game>

Cheers what I meant was attract - game select videos (or is that what you're telling me and I'm being thick?) when you hover over a game title (like if it was street fighter you'd have a short SF vid play)

Again sorry if I'm being dumb.

Ah awesome - execellent.

Having had a play, I think the export / import button stops you having to mess with a path as well. :)

I believe it can do this, you simply need to select a different view on the Premium version.  That being said, you're going to have to make the videos etc yourself and it won't be a portrait option that is available to do that.

You'd end up with something like this.

I've circled where the video would play.

I didn't realise that. I just always manually edit the file. Will have a look at doing it via the software :)
