What FPGA does yours have inside?

Mine has an '802' - which in theory means I can go up to £15 (803 should mean -->£25). However, this one has a £25/30p stake prize key inserted, and it boots ok, so when I've done cleaning it up I'll have a test play and see what's going on... Will also try the lower prize options.

Currently got the reels out for quick wipe down and replacing a plastic rivet that has gone missing.

Not sure what the PFGA Is , if it’s what I’ve posted on the photo I can just about make a 802 , I might be doing something wrong .., I change the jackpot with the machine turned off then switch back on and then get the error , perhaps it does not go down to £5

The FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) is indeed that removable chip you've photographed. The summary is we both have the same FPGA, which ends 802, so our machines should behave in the same way. An 803 chip, so I'm told, would allow £25 - but mine has a £25 prize/stake key inserted and still seems to play ok, I just haven't tested what the jackpot value actually is yet! If the key is correct, it's set to £25, but the 802 FPGA doesn't allow that - so I'm a bit confused, needs further checks once I get the reels back inside it later this week.

It was Astra's way of monetising the upgrade from lower jackpots to higher jackpots, rather that just a DIP switch change for an operator. They had to buy a FPGA, the new decals and also change the DIP settings. I'd love to be able to create a new set of decals for each prize table, currently I only have the £5 > £10 > £15 set.

What prize/stake key do you use, or what have you got it set to if it's the changeable type with 8 dip switches on it?

It’s blatantly set to £25/30p!

Need to get a variable prize/stake key and experiment.

What ROM version do you have? Mine’s 0.07

Changed the prize/stake key to a variable - now back on £15/30p as it should be, 90% payout.

Also replaced the coin mech for all new coins, the old one was really fussy.

Now to float that hopper!

Happy days.   :cup:

Think I needed the type with the 8dips together, not split 4 either side as there isn’t enough space for that. A mate got me one from his spares a stash. Couldn’t find that type on eBay, as you say. Usually loads of them.
