Hi All,

So, i have decided to open up the site again ( http://www.fmedb.com/fmedb/). i still dont have alot of free time to populate but it is what it is, it will no doubt take a few more years yet but we will get there one day.

i have recently added the "Arcade", this will allow any user to create their own arcade and or play others:

you can play layouts after other users have played (if the machine is being played, the machine will be locked for upto an hour or when the user uploads the new gam and ram files) or you could create your own.

Create Arcade:

Go to user profile > my arcade > input a name for your arcade and click save. then click "Go To My Arcade" button you go to your arcade.

Add Machine:

1. Click the "Add Machine" image > Populate the "Machine UID" value (this can be found by searching for the machine then making a note of the number in the url (See screenshot)

2. You need to have a zip that only contains the ".gam" and ".ram" file in and select.

3. Select a screenshot image

4. Paste in a url link to the download of the layout.

5. Hit Submit.

The site will be live from 8pm tonight, i will be starting to upload my un released stuff in into the arcade from December.

#321278 MachineBase! New way to find and download exactly the Layout that you want!

Nice idea from Fruitnutter there but it needed thinking through a bit more.  Cannot ever fault the enthusiasm though.  A lot of members contribute nothing at all so credit for trying to offer something useful to people :)

I still think the FME scene needs a nice big database as a handy reference-point where people can go and look up a game and find out info on it, pictures, whether a layout has been done and who by, and what site(s) it is hosted at and what version of MFME it runs on.  There could be other stuff like saved RAM files and so on added as well.

For a lot of people it's just really cumbersome now trawling through loads of sites trying to find something.  I remember Ross was doing FMEdb but it ground to a halt unfortunately.  We need something like this and people need to get behind it and populate it.  People will still have to come here or elsewhere to download in the end anyway.  No layouts or ROMs would be hosted, just information.

That is what the scene needs right now, information all in one place.

its something im still developing but with the size of the project it was never going to be done quick. who knows, might be back in the future if it gets to point where its useful.

Hi all, from tomorrow I will be uploading new roms (about 3gbs to upload in total) mainly new empire Roms (a.f.a.i.k we now have all emulatable empires apart from ram raid)

I will be uploading them in batches of 10 each Friday as I don't have time to name them all and upload in one lot and it will be easier for people to know what is now available, I will be uploading onto to repo site as it's a lot of data (Will post a link up tonight so people can register)

Anyone who signed up to my old repo will need to sign up again.
