Just one thing - set each of the coin inputs as S10/Electronic.

#301219 Electrocoin - Big 7 Classic

Posted by TTX on 24 February 2017 - 06:22 pm

the reels seem to spin slighty slow on my system which suffers no slow down on any other layouts,

i think this machine just has a long reelspin duration...but i may be wrong :)

ive read in other threads about this machine, in which the machines lamps were causing some slow down...maybe its related....maybe its not...

Big 7 does have a rather long spin time, I believe this is normal.

The reels are the 200 step type which require a fast CPU to avoid stuttering.

I think the lamps causing slowdown thing may have been to do with the Scorpion 2 Super Multi Nudge layout on an old version of MFME?

I'm pretty sure that only the really early versions that run on the Mk1 Electrocoin hardware with no security will work.

I've sussed all of the lamps - the flyer, manual and test mode together made it easy!

I've ignored some lamps where one graphic has more than one lamp.

Payouts work as expected, what was the 10p issue all about?

There will now be £3, £4 and £5 cash versions as well as the £4 token version.

I never understood the win panel order either!

The EPROMs themselves were corrupted by a parallel port Willem programmer running on Windows XP:

XP toggles the "strobe" pin on the parallel port as part of its mechanism for detecting devices.

Unfortunately, Willem chose the strobe pin for turning on the programming voltage.

Pulsing the strobe during a read would apply programming voltage and corrupt the memory location being read at that instant.

By the way, I do plan on doing the Astra games one day (party time etc), so if anyone has one nearby and can get good photo's while there are still some around, it would be a good idea.

I've still got my miniature Double Cash, will get some decent pics and a ROM to you at some point...
