Hey Reg just wanna thank you for your excellent MFME guide,Sorry didn't realise this even existed,
Very helpful indeed,Im only a few pages in,Already learned a lot more than I thought I knew.Top notch indeed
Thank you very much. This had so many hours poured into it and is the only guide that was ever written for MFME to get it from nothing to base classic. You cannot know how pleased I am that people are willing to give this ago so thank you Bungle.
I would say it could do with being expanded, but can understand it's time consuming to do.
I have only recently managed to get sometime back in my life, but yes you are right.
MFME has such a scope of what can be done - this is a book that will never be finished - but the first step onto a greater journey if somebody decides to do a layout.

First off let me apologise to you all for being a dick,i just felt rather sorry for fruitnutter and got a little hot and bothered over it,i still believe he was only trying to do something good for the scene, but after reading a lot of others posts i do see the problems it could cause for the websites that support this scene,i made a lot of mistakes in my posts which i now wholly withdraw.
a personal apology goes out to vectra666 who has done nothing more than try to help me since ive been here thankyou for that,
and also to all the layout designers who probably got rather peeved by my childish outbursts,I know how much hard painstaking work goes into a layout regardless of who owns the roms etc,its still your hard work and dedication at the end of the day that allows people like me to play them on wizards emu,and the quality nowadays makes the very early layouts look rather primative.
as for the money side of it i withdraw those comments and see thats how it has to be in order for all to help the scene move forward.
and thankyou to the admins for not banning me i really believed it was coming,i'm glad it didn't
I bow out gracefully and say sorry to you all.
please accept my apology
Don't worry about it - we all f*** up.
I once did a post very much like this...
...at least you're clearly looking at it from a netural point of view which is now cool.

That's not a problem, I'm more than happy to not link to your stuff. That's a shame as you (and your forum members) make some fantastic layouts, it has to be said!
Nonetheless, it's your stuff, and your forum, and you can rightly and correctly decide what happens to it.
Any donations via my program would go straight (and directly) to any site which the program linked to (no money would go through any of my accounts). You are correct - why should donations go somewhere else if someone downloads content from your site.
Regardless of any present or historical differences between us, I still want your site to succeed for you. It's a good one, and deserves it. I know that you put in a lot of hard work.
I am not saying don't link forum member stuff - just mine.
That's for clarity.
Forum members choose to post there and that is their choice - but anything from the Download area that Reg has posted is out of scope.

I had coded in some features such as the necessity to log in before download, and only having a number of downloads available before being sent to fruit-emu to register, donate, and download more. This feature came too late.
Please do not link any of my stuff.
The donation system that you talk of will support here which is great for here - but you know what - why should the work that I do support another site if people donate to here through your program on a basis that my work supports another site ?
100% of the money raised goes into DIF and is used for DIF. We've barely broken even to last year - but hell we try.
I will not allow you to use layouts that I have done that helps fund anything but DIF as these sites don't magically pay for themselves.
I also hope you check in with DAD to be sure he is ok with this ?

Fair point. To be honest though the rule about duplicate accounts exists to dissuade those who in the past kept setting up new accounts to game the download limits.
Hence there is a degree of flexibility within the rule. It’s not designed to punish those who choose to return with new accounts. That would probably effect half the active membership...
In an ideal world we would merge new accounts with old ones, but that’s impossible at this time because of the state of the elderly database and the obsolete, retired version of the forum software which we are still stuck with for the foreseeable future. Merging also tends to make historical membership data, which could be seen as important, disappear or become problematic.
Suffice it to say that any other account/s which Fruitnutter might have are dormant, and any permissions that they had on that account have been completely restricted, and they cannot post from or download through them.
Thank you for your response here and explanation.
At least now we know we're dealing with one person who now is going to be going by the name of fruitnutter - I guess consider it a name change.

Why are you so absolutely intent on getting rid of me? Can't you just let things lie? Last time I spoke to you was about a year ago. Can't you see I'm trying to help the emulation scene? Why try to continuously get rid of me until I just get fed up and leave. Doesn't make any sense my man.
When you signed up for DIF with this account I asked you in a PM what brought you back to DIF.
I told you that your account was banned until you responded directly back to me.
You responded, you told me that you "accidently" signed up to DIF, didn't mean to and didn't want to be there.
That was that.
You then again signed up to the site using a throwaway email address.
I opened the door to you - you closed it - said you didn't want to be part of the site and then signed up under another alias.

Like Pook said, HOMEWORK. The guy has been around the scene long enough (under a different nickname) to know what the 'score' is. I'm fairly sure he was aware of the possible outcome of this. I mean even Wizard posted a 'is it okay if I release a new emulator...' type thread before he did it. Would it have been good form to post this tool as a WIP first to gauge response.. I think so.
Same secrecy, cliquey backstabbing etc etc... you know why? Because people like yourself and fruitnutter etc turn up back here with new nicknames too 'afraid' of your past to admit who you really are then 'demand' we follow your tune.
....that is what I'm damn well saddened by.
Hi Geddy - obviously we work from the same info that you see here is what I see at DIF as Moderators etc.
Why this this sleeper account from the original poster allowed to stand - should this not be closed - as far as I am aware his "real" account is still active and I think there's a little piece from the Admin about duplicate accounts etc on the main page ?

And I like many other creators choose what site we release our work on to support the sites we visit, that's why you'll never see a DAD new release on here or a Reg release due to if you want them you need to join up to their sites (for free) and support their sites in the meantime.
By introducing this programme on here is a kick in the teeth for this site and its supporters.

errrmmm..Reg has a "layout for NEW DESIGNERS" guide over at DIF.....
...and it took so many hours to write and has allowed some people to start designing which is awesome.
For the couple of new creators it made - it was worth every single moment of time.
Infact - if I think of all the time I've put into MFME over the years with designing or what not - if I'd written that years earlier we may have had more designers - if only I had a time machine or I can ask John Titor to post this when he came back in search for his IBM machine a few years ago - actually that's not a bad idea !

fruitnutter- you need to remove the MFME font from the downloads - you do not have permission to distribute this or anything that I have done. Was not sure how to address you considering the multiple accounts you have at DIF !
Anyway have you spoken to Wizard to confirm that he is happy for you to distribute older versions of MFME ?

Evening All !
So Desert Island Fruits has taken a major hit tonight... ...apoligies.
While updating in the Control Panel I had a browser crash and this seems to have done some damage to some files within the CSS area of the site.
This means that the whole formatting is screwed - which was great timing on one of my first evenings free in ages.
I've left a PM with Pete to do a restore from last night if he can. The site is that badly damaged due to the crash that the admin back end is just wrecked so you can't even navigate around to use it.
Icons not doing what they should and it's literally a blood bath. I want to destory ever instance of FIREFOX for this !
Thanks for your understanding and it may take a little while for this to come back due ot Pete needing to see the PM - but please bear with me.

Managed to pick up a T7 with 30 day warranty and free delivery for £1250. 3 games in real mode but the guy is installing over 50 demo games on it including Top Trumps, all the community games etc and some other rare games such as Red Hot Roll. Will be mainly using it in demo mode anyway so this is perfect.
I remember T7's being expensive a few years back. How was this for a deal?
T7's are great - probably worth checking this area out here as well - lots of T7 stuff.
Most important... ...you must backup your hard drive. That is the most important thing to do.
BTW - what version of Top Trumps is he installing - the £250 or £70 one ?
With regards to the deal - it's not about the price - it's about are you happy with the games that you got ?
Where did you get it from out of interest ?
Here's mine, most recent addition being the infill panel.
