Fruit-Emu Shoutbox 277 Shouts

(09 September 2013 - 07:55 PM) Where are you Jayzeewood? If local to me I could be interested ;)
(04 September 2013 - 05:51 PM) ... if you were making £20 > £40 an hour at the bookies, why would you sell the information on eBay? :)
(30 August 2013 - 07:35 PM) I miss DIF, but layout releases are so infrequent these days :o
(27 August 2013 - 11:10 PM) Need more information than that - what kind of machine are you after? Club or Pub? What is your screen resolution? What type of games do you prefer?
(26 August 2013 - 08:34 PM) I remember when I graduated from B&W dot matrix to a 4 colour Citizen model, I was in awe at the rainbow like ink ribbon. At least until I'd done a few A4 full colour prints (which took ages) and the yellow had turned browny orange :D
(20 August 2013 - 06:45 PM) HOLY CRAP. Seriously, how have you managed that?!!
(20 August 2013 - 06:29 PM) 15 hour day Ady?!!
(13 August 2013 - 07:32 PM) From memory 80x56 used to be the standard but don't hold me to that!
(12 August 2013 - 06:55 AM) Days off from work certainly do, can't believe it's Monday already - then again, my sleeping pattern is completely screwed this week!
(10 August 2013 - 07:57 AM) Yup, back home now, not back at work 'til Thursday night when it all begins again :(
(10 August 2013 - 12:18 AM) ... morning all! Only six hours of night shift left then 5 days off :)
(29 July 2013 - 08:10 PM) Can't see why it wouldn't run in door open mode though, but like I say I've not tried it :)
(29 July 2013 - 08:10 PM) Never tried it. He lives about 25 mins away, have bought 4 machines off him in the past
(29 July 2013 - 07:51 PM) I'm not saying I'm definitely getting it though, but it does look interesting, same as Top of the Shots I think
(29 July 2013 - 07:51 PM) I'm tempted to get it but cash is tight this month following my stupid gambling on holiday. I've bought machines from him in the past from £40 > £80 IIRC, would probably pop round with £80 and see what he said, saves all the eBay hassle! :)
(29 July 2013 - 07:46 PM) He still has it on eBay, it's on 10p / £5 settings and he's asking £125 but I wouldn't pay that for it :)
(29 July 2013 - 07:37 PM) Seller down the road from me was selling an Emmerdale (the recent one in question), was quite tempted to buy it but didn't in the end
(08 July 2013 - 09:33 PM) Got it from the feature board too, usual way of getting it from Super Hold :)
(08 July 2013 - 09:32 PM) Got one a few minutes ago, meters in the config screen now showing 339 in 163 out, probably put a few quid in after the IM (can't remember though!)
(19 June 2013 - 03:11 PM) It's horrible - just humid and cloudy! :(
(17 June 2013 - 03:04 PM) Good luck with the interview, whatever it's for :)
(15 June 2013 - 08:02 PM) Off to work, see you all at around 08:30 :)
(13 June 2013 - 09:16 AM) ... as chasnbons posted at exactly the same time as me lol
(13 June 2013 - 09:15 AM) Replacing the battery is easy, especially if you are using fly leads to attach it to the mainboard (which is recommended, especially for long term home use)
(04 June 2013 - 08:08 PM) Mine's not great here for some reason, been a bit laggy on most sites
(04 June 2013 - 01:31 PM) ... why do people keep putting things up for sale without saying where they are?
(29 May 2013 - 05:37 PM) Just defloated Viva Mexico and Bar X, £449 in £1 coins. All going into my 'paying off the credit card' fund :)
(27 May 2013 - 02:32 PM) (strange thing to get excited about I know, I'm just amazed I managed to do it by myself without any assistance!)
(27 May 2013 - 02:31 PM) ... sorted it! Ended up buying a wet / dry vacuum with blow facility and used that, took a while but now I can chuck 20l of water down and it's instantly gone :D WOOO!
(27 May 2013 - 12:20 PM) ... spending my bank holiday Monday unblocking a toilet... happy days! :o
(07 May 2013 - 08:06 AM) Aww, not getting the machine after all. Oh well, probably for the best, ought to sell one before I even contemplate buying another :)
(06 May 2013 - 06:52 PM) Was tempted to sell the Viva Mexico for what I paid, but there's no point, and it's quite a nice machine. Plus it's Scorpion 4 same as my other machines so I can always butcher it for spares and just keep the glass if I have to :o
(06 May 2013 - 06:51 PM) Umm... they don't know yet Ricardo LOL
(06 May 2013 - 06:46 PM) Will be selling the Bar X with Chuzzy kit, or breaking it for spares, not fussed which. It's worth a fair bit in spares as the cabinet's in excellent condition and the Chuzzy kit should fetch £25 by itself
(06 May 2013 - 06:46 PM) LOL Ricardo, yeah, I just bought a QPS Full Metal Jackpot, no idea why, really don't need it. I've got two lo-techs and a clubber so fancied a pub machine on £35 or less (this is on £35)
(06 May 2013 - 06:35 PM) Oh lord, I've only ordered another fruit machine.
(06 May 2013 - 06:32 PM) I quite like those sweet chilli peppers, like Roquito, with prawns. Tend to use jalapenos on more plain pizzas :)
(06 May 2013 - 06:29 PM) Mmmm, sounds good :D
(06 May 2013 - 03:56 PM) Yeah, hello Pinky :D
(06 May 2013 - 08:43 AM) ... that's a fair old trek for a meeting, hope it goes well whatever it is!
(06 May 2013 - 08:41 AM) ... joking!! Please don't hurt me! :D
(06 May 2013 - 08:41 AM) I don't know Ady, you have it so easy with not having to work on a Bank Holiday ;)
(22 April 2013 - 09:11 AM) Sod that, we should demand he gets back on the first available plane :D
(09 April 2013 - 10:32 AM) Swapped my Smart Car back to the garage and got a Ford Fusion instead. The Smart was a lovely, cute, easy to park car, and very quirky - but felt scary doing 60+. Really they are a city car, so it's not their fault. Fusion is much more stable, more equipment, although not as easy to park or get out the driveway :D
(18 February 2013 - 09:55 PM) £6 per kilo of supermarket mince?! I get 'best steak mince' from my butchers for about that!
(14 February 2013 - 04:35 PM) We've used Shiply for couriering a car once, but for machines I normally used Speedlink - although from looking at their site, it looks like they've changed hands? http://www.speedlinktransport.co.uk/
(07 February 2013 - 05:45 PM) http://www.nokia.com...ucts/phone/300/ << don't buy if you want to browse pages on t'internet! :)
(07 February 2013 - 05:44 PM) Was disappointed in mum's phone, it's a recent Nokia Asha 300, supposedly 1GHz CPU, 3G, 5Mpix camera, touchscreen and keypad... can't load 99% of websites. What bloody use is that on a 3G enabled handset with touchscreen?!
(07 February 2013 - 05:41 PM) @todd1970 :D
(07 February 2013 - 05:37 PM) It seems fine on pages with a very basic mobile alternative page (such as BBC), but any homepages which use graphics / video just won't load, even really simple pages.
(07 February 2013 - 05:36 PM) Fruit-Emu works fine on my phone (Sony Xperia P). It'll be your phone, mum's got a recent Nokia, and the browser on their basic phones (like hers) can't load 99% of websites.
(07 February 2013 - 05:29 PM) I can't load FruitForums on my mobile, the loading bar gets to about 10%, vanishes, and leaves me with a white page (but that's an issue for FF, not for here :D)
(06 February 2013 - 12:05 PM) I'm absolutely amazed that they avoided custodial sentences... this clearly wasn't a small enterprise (4 arcades) and they were no doubt making a large sum of money.
(05 February 2013 - 07:22 PM) @ady Lovely stuff, thanks!
(05 February 2013 - 06:54 PM) (it does help that I also put them on 98% payout!)
(05 February 2013 - 06:53 PM) I can't stop playing the Scorpion 4 machines I've knocked down to £5 jackpot and 30p play - stake say £100 in each one and try and get £100 back. Strangely addictive! :)
(05 February 2013 - 06:39 PM) MAD FOR IT :)
(04 February 2013 - 10:16 PM) Sorry Tommy, didn't see your reply, have made my shoutbox taller now :D
(04 February 2013 - 10:01 PM) Still no rain here, just wind. From looking at the precipitation radar it looks like Stockport just got a pasting from the weather :o
(04 February 2013 - 09:29 PM) My shout never appeared... weird :S - anyway, where are you Tommy? Nothing here yet but from looking at raintoday.co.uk I reckon we should have something in the next 30 mins or so
(03 February 2013 - 08:11 PM) It's already got a fair bit of interest, can see it going for quite a bit. I'm sure the ROMs for this will be kicking about - so perhaps it doesn't run in the emulator for some reason?
(03 February 2013 - 12:48 PM) I did exactly the same thing on Friday, and I *always* have my debit card in my wallet. Turned out that when I had my interview I took it out of my wallet and put it in my folder with my birth certificate e.t.c. :o
(02 February 2013 - 07:45 PM) @Tommy c - fallen asleep on your keyboard? :)
(02 February 2013 - 06:45 PM) @frankie77 Not too bad ta!
(02 February 2013 - 06:44 PM) Anyway, I'm good thanks, except the engine management has come on with the car, and there's a bit of a tense family atmosphere (not car related), otherwise everything is fine!
(02 February 2013 - 06:44 PM) Sorry for not replying, been trying to find a charger to fit my new Sat Nav (didn't seem to want to charge on USB for some reason?)
(02 February 2013 - 06:29 PM) 'ello fruitman :D
(27 January 2013 - 03:30 PM) It's not fair, I liked the snow, made everything nice and bright! :(
(26 January 2013 - 03:05 PM) I get ID'd all the time, and I'm 27, and going grey :)
(25 January 2013 - 01:04 PM) ... I would, but it won't fit in my car :D
(25 January 2013 - 12:55 PM) My last machine, Club Clouseau, was probably only worth about £150, but I ended up paying £245 simply because it was the first one I'd seen on eBay, and there was (and is!) still one in the local club
(25 January 2013 - 12:52 PM) It's awkward, I've paid over the odds many times on machines, because I specifically wanted them and couldn't be bothered waiting for another to turn up :D
(25 January 2013 - 12:51 PM) Well, yeah, I'd be surprised if it went for £50, but it depends on if collectors start fighting over it
(25 January 2013 - 12:49 PM) You could arrange a courier (such as Speedlink), who will collect and deliver a machine nationwide for about £75 :)
(19 January 2013 - 06:29 PM) Thanks Pilky :)
(19 January 2013 - 04:12 PM) Sorry, but DOND ROMs (or any other Bell Fruit ROMs since about 2004) will not run in the current publicly available emulators :(
(18 January 2013 - 05:44 PM) Stopped snowing here a couple of hours back, then another light dusting after, but I imagine that's it for the night. Just been out sweeping and salting the driveway, don't want to be sued!!! :D
(17 January 2013 - 05:46 PM) Cheers Samson!! Still feel absolutely drained from it all, convinced myself I'd failed so might have accidentally said 'no f**king way!' when he told me :D
(17 January 2013 - 04:12 PM) ... I've just come back from my driving test - 5 minors and a nice blue certificate to frame! Just need a little van now and I can drive around buying machines :D
(16 January 2013 - 08:44 PM) I do agree to you to an extent BJ, Tesco will make ridiculous demands of the suppliers, however I'd like to think that this wouldn't happen in England
(14 January 2013 - 08:43 PM) I still don't understand how you are making your layouts, I need to look into it though as it seems others do it the same way... I
(14 January 2013 - 08:42 PM) ... hence why I like my 'one at a time' way, I know it's slower, but building a layout one lamp at a time does save issues like that :)
(12 January 2013 - 09:54 PM) What happened was I put about £60 in for a start, then had to go out. Came back later and still had £20 in credit... before I knew it I'd built up a 'bank' of £500, and I think that even with replaying it loads, there's still £400 or so in the bank. Just going to keep recycling it through to see what happens, can't be bothered cashing it out :D
(12 January 2013 - 09:51 PM) Sorry for not replying, was replying to a release thread - it just seems to be playing very well, I've not had jackpots from the reels, have had bronze pots twice (for values of £36 or so, followed by one of about £50 I think). Never more than 3 leps, but that has paid £70 on 3 occasions I think, no full screens of JPs
(12 January 2013 - 09:44 PM) @fruitman69 Been having some fun with Rainbow Riches £70 - opposite of Bullion Bars £70 in that I'm still at about 130% payout, with about £1500 in :D
(12 January 2013 - 03:45 PM) be back soon, going to log in on upstairs PC and install my new SIMs up there :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:44 PM) (I say it's hard to get consistency... it's not... but I often go back and adjust lamping a little if I feel it does look wrong when loaded in!)
(12 January 2013 - 03:43 PM) The issue with my way is it's hard to get consistency, it would be easier if I had a fully off background and a fully lamped background, because I could ensure lamping was consistent :D
(12 January 2013 - 03:42 PM) Yeah, it's probably faster than my way, and it probably is the 'right' way, but I like my slow, plodding way of doing it :D
(12 January 2013 - 03:36 PM) Just to clarify, I do the editing and save the BMPs in Photoshop, then load them in to MFME, I don't do any 'masking' or anything, I just load off / on images then tick the relevant boxes (transparent, e.t.c.)
(12 January 2013 - 03:35 PM) What I do is sort out background art, then cut or copy an individual 'off' image from that, save it as BMP called 'off', load that BMP in, lamp it, save it as a BMP called 'on', then make a lamp in MFME, load the ON and OFF images, and job's a good'un :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:32 PM) ... so (for example) you've sent me an two on images for different parts... how do you get the 'off' images for them? :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:30 PM) @vectra666 Ah, you do your graphics differently to me so I'm going to struggle a bit. I actually make an 'off' and 'on' image for each lamp, then load them in together and drop them onto the background art in MFME
(12 January 2013 - 03:23 PM) Sorry Ady, not sure where my phone is, I think it's upstairs, I'm going to head up there once the darts in finished so I can install my ROF games on my proper PC :D
(12 January 2013 - 03:17 PM) You have to have every corner pixel in the same colour as your 'mask' colour, so green in this instance :D
(12 January 2013 - 03:15 PM) @vectra666 Masking lamps? :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:14 PM) @vectra666 Afternoon, only got up at 14:30 and watching the darts while using the shoutbox :D
(12 January 2013 - 03:13 PM) @vectra666 << you are at a disadvantage anyway because you are working specifically on 1024x768 layouts, so there's little you can do, just give as much space to the main playing areas as you can, and don't forget you can always ask (the earlier the better, before you do lamping e.t.c. if possible!!)
(12 January 2013 - 03:12 PM) @greatxerox I do agree, however resources for older machines can be very hard to come across, especially when a machine is no longer in arcades
(12 January 2013 - 03:11 PM) Because UK machines tend to be quite complicated, with lots going on, feature trails, e.t.c. it is very hard to fit them into smaller layouts, like 1024x768 - if you have a monitor which handles them, try to stick to layouts which are called 1280 or 1600 and they will be higher quality :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:10 PM) There's no way of 'increasing' the quality without making another layout :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:10 PM) No, the layouts are made in a set resolution (normally 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1600x1200) - these are called 1024, 1280 and 1600 layouts :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:09 PM) We normally call them 'layouts' :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:08 PM) Ahh :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:07 PM) Tables? Are you talking about fruit machines or pinball? :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:04 PM) @greatxerox No worries :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:04 PM) If nobodys watching the BDO darts on BBC, it's been absolutely amazing this afternoon, well worth tuning in :D
(12 January 2013 - 03:02 PM) http://www.masque.com/ << The website for Masque - I play these a lot, they are very accurate and well produced :)
(12 January 2013 - 03:01 PM) No, but there are some VERY good simulators by Masque games if you are into that kind of thing? They don't cost a lot to buy but you can find them on online for free if you look :)
(12 January 2013 - 02:59 PM) As for learning how to win using the emulators, they really only cover machines up to 2004, and to be honest the community is more about playing machines you can't find in arcades, than trying to work out playing methods :)
(12 January 2013 - 02:58 PM) No, there are a couple of older casino machines that work in MFME, back when it was a £1000 jackpot limit, but they've all been phased out and replaced with videos these days
(12 January 2013 - 02:56 PM) They are normally 5 reel video ones, very similar to machines you find on online casinos, normally by IGT / WMS / Novomatic
(12 January 2013 - 02:55 PM) Yes, I've been to a few casinos, in the UK they are normally limited to £4000 jackpot and nearly every machine will be video based
(12 January 2013 - 02:54 PM) Glad you enjoyed Crazy Fruits, it was a very popular game here, especially at seaside resorts with a low jackpot (5p a play, £5 jackpot)
(12 January 2013 - 02:53 PM) @ In the UK we've really only had reel based machines until now, more video machines are coming in to pubs and clubs but in the past I don't think players trusted them! :)
(12 January 2013 - 02:48 PM) That's right, MFME and Amber are really for pub and arcade fruit machines, and these normally use reels rather than screens
(12 January 2013 - 02:39 PM) Sounds good! Do you have fruit machines in France?
(12 January 2013 - 02:35 PM) Do you come from another emulation site greatxerox? Do you have a link to it? :)
(12 January 2013 - 02:24 PM) Only just got up... with the Bobby George's son playing Scott Waites. Perfect timing... game on :D
(11 January 2013 - 07:48 PM) http://www.fruit-emu...ry/1-emulators/ << MFME All in One has all versions in it :)
(10 January 2013 - 07:51 PM) Got to be Birds Eye cod fish fingers for me! I don't like Birds Eye as a company, moving work abroad, but they do make a nice cod fish finger!! :)
(08 January 2013 - 11:55 PM) Interesting looking machine, surprised to see it on £10 - looks like it was originally £6. Then again, I'm sure they chipped the old Cops N Robbers machines to £10 as well.
(06 January 2013 - 09:29 PM) g'nite Ady if you've not already gone :D
(06 January 2013 - 09:02 PM) @vectra666 I don't think value of PC or quality of screen comes into it, I think it's more to do with putting the time and effort into it
(06 January 2013 - 09:00 PM) No offence, but I can only see about 2 hours work?
(06 January 2013 - 08:59 PM) @vectra666 12 hours?!!
(06 January 2013 - 08:55 PM) @vectra666 honest question - how long did you spend on your Casino Crazy Fruits Red layout?
(06 January 2013 - 08:34 PM) Bencrest is absolutely stuffed full of lamb dupiaza :)
(06 January 2013 - 08:23 PM) Just wondering :) Are you having problems with Project Amber?
(06 January 2013 - 08:20 PM) You OK Ady?
(06 January 2013 - 04:29 PM) I'm off out for a curry shortly, just watching a bit of darts on the BBC first :)
(05 January 2013 - 09:03 PM) ... it's gone a bit scary in here :D
(05 January 2013 - 02:39 PM) For example, I'll start playing a clubber on the emulator, and before I know it, I won't be able to leave until I've jackpotted it (fine on some clubbers, but on some clubbers you can be playing them all day!!)
(05 January 2013 - 02:37 PM) @fruitman69 I know you aren't online now but sorry for not replying yesterday - yes, definitely enjoying the SIM. As for why I've put over £7000 in - I just love shoving money into machines! Doesn't matter if they are real or not :D
(05 January 2013 - 02:35 PM) @vectra666 <spoiler alert!> http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/20863393
(05 January 2013 - 02:09 PM) Just need Hull to win later (no, I'm not gambling on it, but mum supports Hull!)
(05 January 2013 - 01:53 PM) I don't follow football, but it's nice to see Brighton doing well in the FA Cup 3rd Round :D
(05 January 2013 - 01:33 PM) ... nope, sorry, not for free. How about http://www.fruitchat.co.uk/forum.php ?
(04 January 2013 - 07:19 PM) ... sounds like fun :)
(04 January 2013 - 05:57 PM) @fruitman69 ... I think I was probably at about 30% when I was £1000 in :D
(04 January 2013 - 04:16 PM) Yeah, it did feel like I'd never get there, although in the past £1000 it's chucked in some mental top boards which did help :D
(04 January 2013 - 03:54 PM) Sorry for the huge picture, just had to show that I'd finally gotten the machine to 95% :D
(04 January 2013 - 03:38 PM) @fruitman69 Posted Image
(03 January 2013 - 05:57 PM) I've been knocking back £2, £5 and £15 wins, playing for let 'em spins on bullion bar or jackpot wins - mistake? :)
(03 January 2013 - 05:56 PM) @fruitman69 - I can't remember the exact figures, but my Bullion Bars (about £5500 in) is now hovering around 80%
(02 January 2013 - 12:23 PM) Will keep plugging away at it :D
(02 January 2013 - 12:23 PM) ... I got it up to about 86% last night, then it did nothing for a few hundred and I think it's at about 78% now, around 4000 in? :)
(01 January 2013 - 11:44 PM) Weird, I was playing it earlier on 10.1 without a problem downstairs :S
(01 January 2013 - 11:09 PM) All I know is it had better cough up some serious bloody wins when I next go on it!! (knowing my luck the battery will be flat :D)
(01 January 2013 - 11:08 PM) Mine's got a Chuzzy, it's too cold to play it now but last time I went on it I was about £600 in for about £150 out, f**king thing :D
(01 January 2013 - 11:06 PM) Oh honest question fruitman - I'm about £1600 into Bullion Bars £70 sim, and it's now up to about 70%, will it definitely get up to 95%? :D
(01 January 2013 - 11:04 PM) I've got a Bar X 10 in my garage, I could photo it - would be about the easiest machine to SIM ever :D
(01 January 2013 - 11:02 PM) Aww... but if Pilky goes, there will be 99% less posting in the shoutbox :(
(01 January 2013 - 11:01 PM) If fruitman is who I think he is (SP?) then he's done plenty of layouts in the past :D
(01 January 2013 - 09:20 PM) Very much enjoying my Bullion Bars £70 machine fruitman :D
(31 December 2012 - 11:53 PM) Happy New Year everyone! Sorry I'm late, been watching fireworks on TV with the old man!
(31 December 2012 - 11:04 PM) Happy New Year Daryl to you and your family :)
(31 December 2012 - 10:57 PM) @Tommy c LOL
(31 December 2012 - 10:56 PM) Ummm... thanks for that, but you've done more than I have! (sourcing machines / glasses e.t.c.), I just throw hissy fits and vanish :D
(31 December 2012 - 10:52 PM) LOL I wouldn't go that far - I'll go for FME Drama Llama :D
(31 December 2012 - 10:51 PM) Oh, and a crown. Chop-chop :)
(31 December 2012 - 10:51 PM) I think Fruit-Emu should send me round a solid gold pedestal than I can stand on when posting here. Ta :)
(27 December 2012 - 01:20 AM) Oh, you've reminded me to get my softmodded Wii from upstairs, got one of the cheap balance boards from CEX a while back (tenner or so?) and fancy trying Wii Fit for the new year :D
(25 December 2012 - 12:25 PM) @pilky Technically, nothing we do is allowed, emulation is one huge grey area
(25 December 2012 - 12:23 PM) Question for fruitman - you ever considered trying a high - mid-tech AWP? I'm sure it would be a complete ballache, but I was thinking last night about how there is nothing close to DOND available (except your lo-tech sim)
(25 December 2012 - 12:22 PM) @fruitman69 'not everything is about making money in life' << very true :)
(25 December 2012 - 12:12 PM) I'd have loved a £2 game - I always miss the best offers :(
(25 December 2012 - 12:10 PM) Damn this hangover, I could have had a special offer!!
(25 December 2012 - 12:09 PM) ARRRGGHHH
(25 December 2012 - 12:09 PM) What 2 hour special?!!
(25 December 2012 - 12:07 PM) Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone, hope you feel less hungover than I do :o
(25 December 2012 - 12:07 PM) I'm absolutely fine drinking beers, and mixed spirits - but fruit based alcohol (wine / cider) hits me like a ton of bricks!!!
(25 December 2012 - 11:44 AM) Just got up and wishing I hadn't had that cider as well last night :(
(24 December 2012 - 10:39 PM) The only thing I remember about BBC Micro was that I was addicted to Repton :)
(24 December 2012 - 10:23 PM) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family Ady :)
(24 December 2012 - 04:31 PM) I'm going to be filling up on Disaronno and Coke. Yup, it's probably a bit girly, but I love it :D
(24 December 2012 - 03:34 PM) I've got to meet up with old work colleagues and friends at 20:30 in the local Wetherspoons, they are out 'til 02:30 but it's my old mans birthday tomorrow so I'll be back early and sit up 'til silly o'clock drinking nice beers with him :D
(23 December 2012 - 09:08 PM) I'm a bit strange, I like tartare sauce with my egg and chips :D
(23 December 2012 - 07:48 PM) ... and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family pilky :)
(23 December 2012 - 07:33 PM) ... Bon Appétit :)
(23 December 2012 - 07:27 PM) Reminds me of when people used to call the webmaster here Duplo :D
(23 December 2012 - 07:22 PM) I still don't know if pilky was referring to me or you BJ, but I assume it's me - just hard to tell when people struggle to read / type :)
(15 December 2012 - 04:54 PM) I'm not saying I'm any more intelligent than anyone else here - but the issue I raised with the Adders and Ladders layout was to do with unclean background art - something which no operating system would have sorted. I tend to stick to Windows 7 on my PCs, but do have XP on several laptops, normally used for older games which have issues with 7.
(15 December 2012 - 03:27 PM) It makes no difference, but I run Windows 7 Home Premium downstairs and Windows 7 Professional upstairs
(15 December 2012 - 03:25 PM) I don't slag work off, but if people are releasing layouts with 'issues' that they might not be aware of, why shouldn't I bring them to their attention? If anyone wants a playtester or anything I'm always up for it, but I'm pretty anal and would rather pick things to pieces than kiss arse and say things are wonderful when they aren't.
(27 November 2012 - 11:59 PM) Surely Electrocoin AWPs like that wouldn't be from the late 90's though? It would help perhaps if we knew what jackpot you played it on :)
(26 November 2012 - 07:10 PM) Oh, ours was nowhere near as technical as that, we just did pretty basic testing on food, swabs and water samples :)
(26 November 2012 - 07:07 PM) Nah, I used to work in a food microbiology laboratory (it sounds better than it paid!!)
(26 November 2012 - 06:58 PM) Used to test the ready made Spam fritters in my old job, they looked pretty nice actually :o
(26 November 2012 - 06:50 PM) SPAM_-'-_SPAM_-'-_SPAM_-'-_SPAM_-'-_SPAM_-'-_SPAM :)
(25 November 2012 - 08:42 PM) ... either that or the pizza I got delivered at 3am lol
(25 November 2012 - 08:41 PM) LOL, no I'm done celebrating now, had heartburn all day, probably the dodgy cocktails from last night :o
(25 November 2012 - 08:39 PM) It's been pretty windy here but don't remember too much rain, mind you I was in pubs last night :)
(13 November 2012 - 03:58 PM) Sounds silly, but are we absolutely sure that Casino Las Vegas definitely has a red lamp IM mode? Certainly doesn't seem to want to give it if it does!
(28 October 2012 - 09:04 PM) Working fine here, logged in or otherwise. You sure you aren't banned Vecs? :D
(28 October 2012 - 08:43 PM) The MPU Mecca is working fine for me, not tried the repro :)
(17 October 2012 - 07:17 PM) I think I used GIMP (which is free) for tidying the flyer, and Photoshop CS6 for lamping :)
(17 October 2012 - 07:16 PM) Sorry for not reply, was away from the computer playing new machine in my garage :)
(17 October 2012 - 06:32 PM) Don't get me wrong, it's time consuming, but it makes time fly (in my case at least), and it's not difficult, just a case of taking your time and knowing which tools to use
(17 October 2012 - 06:26 PM) Fiddling with flyers is therapeutic :)
(14 October 2012 - 08:09 PM) Not ideal, but at least the machine isn't in door open mode or similar :)
(14 October 2012 - 08:08 PM) That's what I mean, you just have to turn the machine off and on, it'll pay out another 20p, do that until the bank is clear and restart
(14 October 2012 - 07:55 PM) Oh, I see, if you get 20p wins you just have to reload it / click RESET in config, I was worried you wouldn't be able to play it at all :)
(14 October 2012 - 07:51 PM) Good stuff :)
(14 October 2012 - 07:48 PM) It's totally up to you, if it's a machine you like and you want to play it on the laptop, then go for it :)
(14 October 2012 - 07:47 PM) bugger! :(
(14 October 2012 - 07:42 PM) Just double checking as well - does this still crash if you collect wins with 20p units? (so, for example, you collect £3.60 and it crashes?)
(14 October 2012 - 07:41 PM) Have you got the original flyer in nice quality? :)
(14 October 2012 - 07:41 PM) Awesome, looking forward to it :)
(14 October 2012 - 07:35 PM) I'll be doing a 1280 or 1600, if the original isn't up to scratch :D
(14 October 2012 - 07:33 PM) Ooh, Vectra, I was planning on doing that at some point, I assume we already have a 1280 so yours will be 1024?
(11 October 2012 - 10:38 AM) ... afternoon :)
(09 October 2012 - 10:52 PM) ... That makes sense :D
(09 October 2012 - 10:24 PM) Have you ever seen the insides of sit-down? Ballache :)
(09 October 2012 - 10:23 PM) Only thing is (having worked on sit-downs in the arcade), the hoppers and coin lifts can be a right pain in the f**king arse on some of them
(09 October 2012 - 10:22 PM) I'd love a sit-down myself, but only because I'm idle and think they are sweet :D
(09 October 2012 - 10:13 PM) I've got another £70 machine (hopefully soon to be £35) which is a Bell Fruit Show Time, I don't really need two machines with a similar 'wheel' feature :D
(09 October 2012 - 10:10 PM) Nope, if anything it's probably taller lol
(09 October 2012 - 10:03 PM) Really not after much for it, it's a good laugh but I'm going to either swap it for a clubber, or a lo-tech, not sure which :)
(09 October 2012 - 10:03 PM) I've got a Random Spinner on the B3 software (£1 play, 'red or black' gamble), fitted with a notey (can't remember which one though!) - fully working, with instructions and keys
(09 October 2012 - 09:57 PM) Cheap, obviously, I'm not here to rip anyone off! :)
(09 October 2012 - 09:57 PM) Todd, is there still a classifieds section here? I've got a £500 machine to sell which I'm going to eBay, but thought I'd see if someone here might be tempted first?
(09 October 2012 - 09:57 PM) :)
(09 October 2012 - 09:36 PM) I don't use any anti-virus or anti-malware, but when you use PCs as often as I do (and are disciplined with them), you can easily spot when something is wrong. The parents both have AVAST or AVG FREE installed though on their PCs. If and when something goes wrong, I find a solution :)
(08 October 2012 - 10:22 PM) I wish I'd never played an S16... I remember when they first came out, a local arcade had just got some Party Games Slotto machines in (it was the only S16 at the time!), and I put £2 in and won £225 or something, I couldn't believe it. That kicked off my addiction really, because from then on I really believed I could do the same again :S
(08 October 2012 - 10:08 PM) Not played a machine for 8 weeks and have no intention of playing one either :D
(08 October 2012 - 10:07 PM) So when I lost, I lost, and when I won... it spurred me on to lose any more!
(08 October 2012 - 10:07 PM) My main problem was that I could never hang onto any winnings, I'd go to an arcade a couple of hundred quid up, then shove that back in, PLUS another couple of hundred in various ways over the following days
(08 October 2012 - 10:04 PM) @illusions Good on you :) I know how you feel first finding these emulations, I nearly crapped myself back in 2001/2002 when I first came across this stuff :D
(08 October 2012 - 09:57 PM) Yeah, Addams Family does it, several other Barcrest machines of the same age do it (Temple of Treasure, King Kebab, Austin Powers, and plenty of others that I can't remember)
(08 October 2012 - 09:57 PM) The Simpsons machines in our arcade did it, the ones with the same board as Homers Meltdown, but in the previous cabinet (so basically clones of Italian Job?)
(08 October 2012 - 09:49 PM) @illusions << loads of machines have features like that, normally called 'hidden features' :)
(08 October 2012 - 09:47 PM) If I recall correctly it was for dumping data onto a Datapak unit, it made no difference to gameplay at all
(08 October 2012 - 09:47 PM) @todd1970 - We used to have people doing that to the EPOCH machines in our arcade all the time, was hilarious
(08 October 2012 - 09:42 PM) If I buy some machines, can I play them on all my PCs, or just one? It's just that during the day I often use my office PC downstairs, but I've also got my crazyass gaming PC upstairs I like to use :D
(08 October 2012 - 09:37 PM) sounds good Fruitman! I've only played the trial versions of your machines, but do like the look of 'em :)
(08 October 2012 - 11:13 AM) I started with a 16k, then the 32k expansion, then when that died a standard 48k, then a 128k +3 with the tape deck built in, and it came with a lightgun and some James Bond shooting games, then an old Olivetti PC (I think it was a 286, in any case it had a 20MB HDD and you had to 'park' the heads before turning off!!)
(06 October 2012 - 09:34 PM) Obviously, when that came out, it was just before Section 16 happened too... ahh, the days when you could walk into an arcade that was full of £15 and £25 machines, with no videos apart from perhaps a Joker Poker or Barcrest Videostar, and nothing over 30p play :D
(06 October 2012 - 08:50 PM) Oh, wait - I think they've all been deleted. Not surprising since I haven't logged into them in the past 10 years :)
(06 October 2012 - 08:49 PM) A tell-tale sign is wait for my birthday, then see any usernames with the same age on that day - any with Dragonball Z references will be me (Gohan, Vegeta, e.t.c.) :D
(06 October 2012 - 08:48 PM) I won't link to any accounts from AGES ago, because they had f**king shocking English - even I used to write messages in stupid txt-speak and crap :D
(06 October 2012 - 08:47 PM) I can't see me mentioned in there, but bear in mind that back in those days I wasn't even called Bencrest, in fact I was Barcrest Benito in 2005 or so :D
(06 October 2012 - 07:36 PM) 'ello Dachshund, I've been around for about 10 years with about 20 different usernames :D
(06 October 2012 - 06:52 PM) Urrghhh... it's X Factor season again :(
(06 October 2012 - 06:00 PM) Mmmmmm!
(05 October 2012 - 09:20 PM) lol :D
(05 October 2012 - 09:06 PM) (bear in mind that I made enough for 6 people... but me being a f**t bastard, I had a third :o)
(05 October 2012 - 09:05 PM) Really vecs? I mean this rice pudding could've been made for pretty much bugger all if I'd stripped it down, and it didn't cost a lot as it was... probably about £2 all in (milk being the most expensive bit!)
(05 October 2012 - 08:34 PM) (no currants though, I agree with you vec, for me I think it's the texture that puts me off!)
(05 October 2012 - 08:33 PM) Next up, I think I'll do a bread and butter pudding... I bought two loaves today and there's no way in hell I can eat them all before they go hard :D
(05 October 2012 - 07:56 PM) As for Angel Delight... I often reminisce about it, but haven't had that for a good 10 years either. Mmmmm... butterscotch :D
(05 October 2012 - 07:52 PM) Not had semolina for ages :) Thai restaurant I use do a lovely tapioca pudding - with - sweetcorn and water chestnut in it! Bloody lovely!!
(05 October 2012 - 07:30 PM) I'd offer you some, but no doubt you are too far away :D
(05 October 2012 - 07:08 PM) Just been digging in to my 'old-school' pudding I made today, large amount of proper rice pudding - made with Guernsey milk and served with strawberry jam. I'm addicted to simple old desserts like this :D
(05 October 2012 - 05:21 PM) I can't argue with that! :)
(05 October 2012 - 03:55 PM) I used to love Red Gaming machines back in the day, I used to do *very* well. However, I'm talking about the Red X / Nitro and similar hi-lo with 'fruit steps' machines.
(04 October 2012 - 07:52 PM) Nor me! :(
(04 October 2012 - 07:23 PM) 'evening!
(04 October 2012 - 03:26 PM) I sure hope not :D
(04 October 2012 - 02:56 PM) Lindt?
(04 October 2012 - 12:52 PM) Ooh, the forum is online again :D
(03 October 2012 - 12:53 PM) So, are they all the same user? That's a bit sad :o
(03 October 2012 - 12:20 PM) I reckon I qualify for both :D
(03 October 2012 - 12:10 PM) I want to win it! MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME! :)
(02 October 2012 - 05:05 PM) ... Are you on a netbook James? Like a 10" or smaller screen?
(02 October 2012 - 04:44 PM) Hi James, the simplest solution would be to stick to machines which are labelled as '1024', which means that they should fit on a 1024x768 or 1366x768 display :)
(02 October 2012 - 12:20 PM) ... I still had credits in the machine, which is why it wouldn't do it - I should know that since I've got a Scorpion 4 machine in the garage :D Thanks jim2311 :)
(01 October 2012 - 11:28 PM) Any layout designer chaps out there (or anyone else who knows!) - is there a checkbox / button I need to use to get my Scorpion 4 layout into test mode? Need to check some bits, ta :)
(30 September 2012 - 06:02 PM) 'evening :)
(25 September 2012 - 05:10 PM) ... and good to see you Todd! Shoutbox has been a bit quiet since I came back, I seem to have that effect on places :D
(25 September 2012 - 08:42 AM) Not bad thanks Moco, and your Stake Up layout is lovely :)
(24 September 2012 - 08:42 PM) Seriously though, 3 years away from here has done me good, not that I've not missed the place, but had loads of stuff happen the past few years, things have settled down now so I feel in a better position to come back :)
(24 September 2012 - 08:41 PM) LOL, I'm not a legend, well not in a nice way. Maybe in a 'spit my dummy out and throw my toys out the pram and vanish for a while' way :D
(24 September 2012 - 08:39 PM) @thunderstorm - thanks :)
(24 September 2012 - 08:39 PM) ... yup! Couldn't believe it when I read it, but I've had a crazy job the past 3 years, it's gone so bloody quickly. Still, got laid off last month so everything has calmed down again :)
(24 September 2012 - 08:35 PM) I've been hiding all over the place - just realised it's 3 years to the day since I last posted from here, so got Duplu to sort my account out (thanks Duplu!)
(24 September 2012 - 08:33 PM) Oh, hey Ross! :)
