#317296 MFME v6.1 Released

Posted by Magz on 10 April 2018 - 06:57 PM

It now tries to find your IP address every time MFME starts up ( Win7 version), if it's not picking the correct one enter it manually and click the static checkbox to prevent it from being changed.

The best solution is to add a loop back interface to your comms adaptors in the control panel and give it a static address like and then enter that in the box and click static. There is a thread explaining this on here somewhere.

This thread if anyone needs it...

As noted, you'll need to allow MFME through your local firewall as well if enabled...

#315388 Horrible audio - How to fix?

Posted by Magz on 26 January 2018 - 11:08 PM

As MFME 3.2 was around for ages and ages, a lot of the machines are listed under that version. They'll run fine in 5.1, and after it converts them to the new file format, they'll likely run in 6. There is no need to run any of the other versions - they are there largely for legacy purposes...

I set the address (just for fun) on the IPv4 settings on the loopback adaptor and then specified that as the address in MFME...

As you're having an issue, I am guessing that you don't have any sort of connection other than the tethered mobile connection - so no other wifi - LAN connection etc.

To get around this, you just need a network connection that is always on, but doesn't necessarily have Internet along with it.

Try this:

- Add a Microsoft Loopback Adaptor to your config

Google for this - but here's a link for Win10 - http://nil.uniza.sk/...pter-windows-10

Likely similar in other O/S

Once added, go to Control Panel - Network Connections and "Change Adapter Settings"

Find the Ethernet x entry which is linked to the Loopback Adapter

Double click entry and change the IPv4 settings to an internal IP ( would do - leave the mask as

Enter that IP in the MFME config page

Should then work without Internet

I tested this quickly on my laptop and it worked. If it doesn't - check your Windows Firewall and make sure MFME.EXE is allowed through.

Is it just me, or is this years PDC darts one of the best tournaments (so far) ever?

Not just because it's Phil's last outing, but the standard and close games have been great to watch!

Not in Win7 I'm afraid (well not easily anyway). The license key is locked to the OEM version that was installed so you're required to install their build.

Frankly, it's easy enough to remove all the bloat.

Usual process is:

- Uninstall all the (cr)apps using control panel

- Run msconfig and deselect the rubbish from startup

- Run CCLeaner to remove the leftover stuff

That'll give you a near clean build to work from...

#312232 Threads/ MODS/ADMIN

Posted by Magz on 03 December 2017 - 07:18 PM

Not sure if this is possible on this board but on other boards I'm involved with there is a function to time-lock a thread. Gives a countdown to show when it's active again.

Generally it's used to either:

- Give people a chance to lookup and see if stated items are verifiable

- Gives people a change to calm down

Might be useful on certain threads that appear here from time to time.

Otherwise, echo the sentiment that things need to calm down. New emulator, New layouts, all the things we've been waiting for for years - lets get back to that eh?

I'd be all in favour of a FOBT ban - I'd also ban all advertisement of gambling and hike the tax charges.

Removing the FOBT may well cause some bookies to go bust / be keeping bookies that would go bust open.

Sadly for them, the writing is on the wall anyway as the online FOBT style gambling offers better returns anyway so just as the online bookies have taken away that part of their trade, so will go the FOBT revenues as well...
