Hoping no one else has started, this will be be next release. Ploggy posted up a blank layout for it, with a few bits added and it's a machine I have always wanted to see emulated, so decided to give it a go.

I currently have this video as my only reference, but it's still very helpful

It will be 20p £6 jackpot, which is very nice to have.

I'm currently making slowish progress, as unless I'm missing something, you have to work out the reel symbols by yourself. Lamps wise also you need to work it out yourself, although once you get some of the lamps in an area, you can work out the rest from the lamp test.

It is running and as you can see, I have been around landing on most of the board and it accepts coins/pays and meters register. So far worked out some reel symbols, by playing and collecting some features.

Any advice on working stuff out, or am I right and you have to do everything with the machine not helping with symbol identification and also only offering limited help with Lamps?

The older the machine, the harder they are to emulate, mate.  You'll need to work out the reels, and lamps, yourself on this particular machine.  The test modes give a little help, but not as much help as say a S4 or Epoch machine.  The lamp test mode does tell you which part of the glass they go though (top, or bottom) on System 5 machines, but not where.

If you go into the lamp test, and press the Exchange button (I think), you'll see a block of lamps light up.  They're the lamps that go on the top glass.  When you press the button again, it will light another block of lamps, and these lamps go on the bottom glass.  Press the Exchange button again, and it will light all the lamps in a logical sequence.  Starting from the bottom glass, to the top glass.

The reel test on this shows you the numbers for the hi-lo reel, and the number overlays on the main reels only, so you're a little unlucky with this.  Popeye, for example, does tell you what symbols go on the reels.  Just the luck of the draw. :(

One more thing.   Here's the configuration you need for the Meter/Payout affects.  You can normally find the triac/solenoids you need by going into the first test in the test routines on System 5.

Good luck with it.  I'll look forward to seeing how it plays when it's completed. :)

Thanks guys.

Ploggy, thanks for confirming bits and pieces, I'll be sure to add the effects.

I see fruitvideos (spa), also has a longer more detailed video on Youtube of this which will aid me further.

Made some good progress last night and now the board is complete and 3/4 of the reel symbols worked out and other lamps such as the winpanel and number trail decals.

Did see the £8 version but I only ever remember playing the £6 version.

Look forward to the release of either version or both ;)  ;)

A bit further with this, promise I won't keep updating every day, but just to say, I'm now confident, it will be released this coming week.

Any suggestion with the reels to use. I do have the following reels, which I got hold of years and years ago, best match? I just need to fudge up overlay for the 10's,20's etc....

Great game this--Remember the BigBen chimes when you got to the end for the £6 jackpot

Always nice when you spun a 10 first go on the feature for a "visa"--bit like an extra life :)

Correct and correct again,127127

All I'm missing now is some of the hazard names that are in the suitcase. I know for instance it's a game over, but not exactly what is written, such as arrested or boat sunk etc.

Other than that it's a case of laying it out to be presentable.

Remember this machine well, was a good, solid, entertaining AWP.

I also recall it being one of the kinder machines of its day, fairly gentle profile, good £3 repeater, so maybe there weren't the usual shenanigans (as was the fashion of the time) available to the clued-up player!

Looking forward to playing it again wearecity :)

Looking good, do you need the correct font for the number overlays as must be a popular one. I'm sure I have it lurking somewhere
Unusual to see the jpm rosette's as JP they're normally for the £3repeater

Thanks guys.

The overlay numbers, yes it will be good to have the font. It's not essential though, as most are perfectly clear and the hold buttons flash fast, to guide you towards which ones to push to get the numbers for the exchange.
