these machines were commissioned by Nobles and became part of their timeless range.

typically a Nobles, now part of the novomatic group, had a whole floor of those 10p £5 machines in the basement so they could get the B3 numbers up on the ground floor.

So which manufacturer actually built them?

Im sure these were designed for Nobles, Coral Island used to have some, and I think these can be found in Funland in Blackpool, I am sure the alpha also mentions Nobles.

I understand Bell-Fruit had something to do with it, noting that Nobel's did have a machine division, which was closely associated with Bell-Fruit at the time (Before Novamatic took over Noble's, which was merged in to their Admiral's brand of arcades), via the Fair Games brand.

An additional note, for many years, Noble's have had a long association with Bell-Fruit, going back to the electromechanical days, with the likes of Railroad in adapted Bell-Fruit cabs.

Indeed, some of the cab variants, was old non-casino bar-x cabs, which I have seen in Quicksilver in Derby back in the day..... Ironically Quicksilver is now part of Novamatic, which I believe joined Admral's.

yes and no, they money does indeed to go novomatic, but quicksilver and nobles are run as independent companies. initially at takeover, nobles didnt share their link-up system wit the rest of the company i.e the ability to have a bar-x, a t7 and a mega-bars on the same ticket payout system.

now the walls have come down so to speak its become more common place.

personally i dont like the linkup system, as its far too easy to spend a ticket with 500 on it, rather than have the cash in your hand.

Just been to look at one of these (Ex Nobles too), based on big bar 7's, and interesting thing about it, is that it runs on two Pluto 5 boards, one used for rng reasons... Unfortunately it uses a shitty azkozen mech, and previous op has rat tailed the mech loom to bits, so freeplay is only way it works at present, and worse still because of the shitty Spanish mech, expensive to sort.

However, looking at it, if some spare parts was chucked at it, maybe possible to install an sr5 in it.
