hi folks, sorting through some of my pc bits and bobs,i found a couple of monitors,a 14" (which is no good to man nor beast lol) and a 17" widescreen.not wanting to chuck them out,i came up with the idea of building my little un a pin table.i was wondering if anyone had ever built one of these virtual tables and would the monitors i haver be good enough for a mini table?

i should also say i have a micro atx board with a core 2 cpu and 4Gb of ram on it which i would use for the machine itself

Not sure if a core2duo would cut it. Would need a graphics card if you wanted all the effects and smooth table. I recently installed some tables on a mates machine, he has a core2duo with onboard graphics and it doesn't play great unfortunately.

the base machine would be a dell optiplex core 2 and i would stick in a low profile pci-e gfx card - my only probs would be wiring up all the control buttons lol

Do you mean to make an emulator cab to play pinball?

If so, take a look at Future Pinball. I use that in a cab that I built and it works really well. You only need 4 buttons really. "Start" game, "Tilt", and the two flippers.

For the buttons I just used an iPac (but apparently there are cheaper knock-off alternatives on eBay?)
