I did enjoy the Generation Game when he presented it. Rather fittingly, he had multi-generational appeal.

Sad to hear of Sir Bruce's demise. Have, like many many others remember his entertainment career through the years (especially on a Saturday night). Sad Loss not many of the old school entertainers left.
89 years old, he did do well!!!!

Sadly was expecting this, this year.
With some stars you don't really notice, they haven't been on tv for a year or two, but with someone as big as Bruce was, you know a long absence meant he must be very ill.
I think he was liked and respected, by people of all ages.
Just watched the 1980's sitcom Slinger's Day, which is on youtube. He's only sitcom role where he didn't play himself. It's a typical no brainer 1980's style sitcom, that isn't that great in the scheme of things. But his energy and enthusiasm in the show, makes sure you are still entertained just watching him.
RIP Sir Bruce, I'm sure it'll be a big night, when you arrive at the pearly gates.

Had FF been around he would have been on my death list this year for sure.

Unfortunately (same as Wearecity) I'd been kind of expecting this. It had been mentioned that he was ill and the way it was said a few months ago it seemed serious.
He was great Saturday night entertainment when I was growing up.
RIP Brucie, nice to see you mate.....

Slinger's Day a brilliant sitcom set in a Supermarket!!!! Bruce took over the lead role from Leonard Rossiter who died mid way through Tripper's day. I've a DVD of both series and I think they should be shown again on TV.

Yes that's right, they are on youtube as well. I watched the series twice through, because it's such an easy show to watch. I must admit, Bruce was so manic and loud in parts, I had to keep turning the volume down, to not disturb the neighbours.
