I saw this on the BBC.

Watchdog clamps down on online gambling - http://www.bbc.co.uk...siness-40378723

Could this end with companies including online casinos, not allowed to off wagering requirement bonuses to UK players?

In general it's good to see companies being scrutinise about them practices.

About time but to be fair you should read about these wagering requirements before depositing, what I don't agree with, with sites like coral Vegas is if you take a bonus say 100% and you don't meet the requirements due to lose of funds they carry on that bonus with your next deposit and so on at one point I had approx 5 old bonuses rolled over and it was blocking a current bonus withdrawal from happening.
What I do like is they often give free spins x50 wagering or free money and yes sometimes you actually meet those requirements
Some examples of my free or near free wins this year
A free £1 yes a pound lol but withdrew £500 within 15mins
100 free spins from £10 deposit won £40 from them so had to wager £2000.... But managed to withdraw £700
10 free spins x35 wager took out £120.
And finally yesterday had £3 free (£150 to wager) still managed a free £150 so all in all not to bad.
Online if you sensible is far better payouts than any land fruit or fobt.

I don't mind a bit of online slots. They are all usually 96% or more. No arcade owner breathing down you neck.

Actually smashed a massive win last week, while on tilt lol

This bad boy! I say tilt, was a play down to £500 a quit, was £360 in for this.

Online gambling addiction could be a massive problem - we wouldn't know because it's a hidden addiction.

A bit like people drinking too much at home due to cheap supermarket and off-license booze, and because their local pub shut...

very tasty as said although you were at £4 a pop its still better payout than them fobt's my best was 54p stake dead or alive for £1500+ mental win had a winline+ of wilds from the fifth spin so ten spins with a guaranteed wild line at £200+ a spin lol.

To Aaamusements, any addiction is bad you could be addicted to crack cocaine, fags even chocolate but if your'e in control then that's fine (apart frm drugs or fags),

i bet 95% of members on here are or were addicted to land slots long before the fobt's and online came along yet we still promote gambling. We call it emulation but end of the day its still feeding the addiction of many but not financially  thank god as i've spend at least half a million in the emulated slots in five years lol

You do need some serious self control to play online for sure. Like when I was playing that. 20p a go, £50 in for not much back, another £50, still the same so upto £1. Another £100, still bugger all. To £2 for another £100. Nothing. Shit or bust, £4 a go and got lucky and lucky the feature came in about £60 later, even better it being a x400. Could have easily been x50-x100, which that feature normally is.

You need to seriously be disciplined when doing online gambling.

I still dabble now and then, but have strict limits, because I know I would gamble more than I originally intended, particularly if I had a bad run of luck and lost my deposit quickly. I always look put away much more money into my savings, than I gamble each month. Although in September that won't be the case, I know for sure.

If it were down to me, I'd ban all gambling advertising and charge an 80% tax on all deposits (taken directly from the credit/debit card transaction to the "casino" so offshore doesn't matter). I'd then use that money to fund essential services.
