Just been asked by a mate over the phone, have you just woke up.

Well I hadn't, I've been up hours, but had a damn cold/flu bug since last Monday.

Anyone else been suffering, might make me feel a bit better, you know safety in numbers and all that.

Been off work on leave all week, which in one way is good, as no work, but I've just spent it indoors and feeling spaced out, wasted my last time off this year, so annoying.

Had Lemsips, Beechams, now using Solpadeine Max and it looks like it's going, but a couple of times, I've felt a bit better, than got worse, the next day, so counting no chickens.

I've hold a cold since Thursday/ Friday, had to cancel all weekend plans in an unusually busy social diary. Just so I can try to be well enough for work on Monday.

Doesn't help that I have a suppressed immune system at the moment.

I currently have had this for the past few years and currently got it again and had this for two days now but it's slowly going and isn't as bad as I've always done my own home remedy thing:-

- Honey Tea with Lemon (warm) - 10am , 3pm , 8pm

- Warm Milk (before bed or before a nap)

- Lemsip (before meals)

- Lockets (after meals)

- VICKS (rub a bit on chest / cheeks) before going to sleep

Not had a problem with doing those 5 things.

Been totally screwed-up for the past 5 Day's.

(Touch Wood) I haven't had a sickie for over Five years, on Tuesday I was sooo close to going home.

Cough, cough and bloody cough all night...snot and just feeling totally drained :(

I found that a few Holsten Pils worked ;)

As a smoker too I couldn't stomach a ciggie for Three day's either.....Having this 'bug' was therefore good for my health in a weird way!!

Time to give up the ciggies Ady, hope you all get better soon,
I'm fairly lucky In I don't get cough n colds that often maybe working in a cold area helps also I very rarely take anything when I do so I think that's made my immune system stronger.
A few weeks back all family had sickness bug and kids caught it twice off each other, me on the other hand as healthy as ever!!!!
The more I do today, The less I do tomorrow.

I've had one since the flu jab (yes, I know it isn't 'supposed' to give you one, but I don't believe that one minute) in October...

I'm all snot and marmite - and a bladder like Ghandi's flip-flop with all the coughing and sneezing!  :bigeyes19:

I've been very fortunate so far (although telling you this will no doubt change this fact) and I should have it by Christmas Eve ;)

My Mother though hasn't been so lucky :(

Dad had to have a bladder stone blasted and a small op on his prostate.  He was only in there for a day but came out with the dreaded lurgy, which he duly passed on to Mum who ended up being rushed into hospital last Monday with pneumonia

She was released on Friday (being considered 'well enough' as they have no beds and need to get rid of the 'less ill' patients.

She is now at home on antibiotics and steroids and not much better to be honest, having to monitor her own breathing with a peak flow thingy and if it drops below a certain 'low' then she has to go straight back to A&E!

It looks like being the same sort of Christmas as last year................ absolute shite!

I don't normally get many colds or worse and when I do it's normally 3 days at the most.

Last Christmas time was worse though with a tooth infection, would not wish that pain on my worse enemy.
