I have 11 mechs that I would like to upgrade/update.

They are mostly CashFlow 126's (I have a MDM colossus that I think wont be update-able)

I have a site already, but was wondering if any of yous have any contacts that can help me.

Cheers

Probs your best one, is to contact SteveH (From MPU Mecca), who runs a spares / repairs place in the Portsmouth area (Charges a one off fee of £16 + postage for the 10p and £1 calibration on Cashflow 126 mech's).

For goodness sake, AVOID the likes of Maggi Maggi, whom over the years, are getting quite a bad rep with their repairs.

One thing I will say at this point, is you maybe best to wait till April, when the new £1 coin comes out, because the service centres are having to rely upon sample set coins, and like the situ with the new steel 10p's, the tolerances on em are not great, thus those offering a calibration service, are not 100% able yet to say if it will work or not.

As a side note, if it came to it, your MDM colossus can be fitted with a cashflow 126 (Unlike the MS / ME series mechs, it uses a re-writeable EPROM, so no extra cost for a new bi-write chip), but you will need to reconfigure your routing plug.

Guessing MPU4 / 5, so again if worst came to it, cashflow 126 mech will sort it.

Word from SteveH, is although the ME range can be done, he can not 100% guarantee it will work, so you either take a chance with what you have got (You may also need a new bi-write rom, so additional cost here), or go with a cashflow 126.

Whilst I remember..... if you are changing from the MS / ME to cashflow 126 mechs, you will often find two sorts of entry point where the coin enters the mech..... a side (Often used with the single coin entry bezel), and a top entry (Often used with dual coin entry bezels / Y-chutes)..... on the MS / ME range, I know these parts are interchangeable, and I am pretty sure same is so with the CF 126's, so remember to keep your old mech back, as you may need to swap some parts over.

Me126 has more plug pins than a 129, don't think you can swap them.
Also need to keep it taking tokens.

Yep, certainly so till an official set comes out.... which brings me on to the release date.....

Had a chat with one of the staff I know well at my local NatWest the other day, and what he said surprised me..... he informs me they as of yet have NO information what so ever from either RBS Group or BoE, not even an official release date yet, so it's kind of worrying that the target release date is supposed to be start of April, and certainly regarding RBS Group, none of the staff knows who, what, how, and when yet..... this is why I am saying to folks who are looking at mech re-calibration, hold off for as long as you can (Unless you have got issues with the all steel 10p's that urgently need sorting), till things become clearer with the new £1 coin situ.

Brill, that's fine. All my mechs need the 10p upgrade but I see companies do that with the £1 upgrade, hopefully.

This is it..... if you need the 10p steel update too, makes no sense sending it now, till things become clearer with the new £1 coin situ, so as to save costs.

The deal SteveH currently has will probs be an on going thing, so that will be the deal to go for, and if dealing with a CF126, maybe an idea to look in to the new 5p's too, so even if the machine the mech is used in don't take 5p's, you are covered if you need to swap a mech over to one that does.

You can actually..... look at some electrocoin bar-x's (Non Casino type)...... standard mech fitted to those is an MS111, but I have seen some with a CF126 fitted, and work fine..... long as the two blank key positions match on the plug, will work..... just some coins (5p's and £2 normally), will not be accepted by the machine.

Also CF126's most certainly work with DCE / Y-chutes, so again the 20p token is covered.

Only problem you will get, is needing to reconfigure the routing plug (It uses the larger of the two).

Thanks great. Thanks for that. I'll refer to this thread when the time comes.
