Hi Guys,

I have a Maygay Games 'Bank Raid' 2003 fruit machine that is driving me round the bend.

I brought it the other day for next to nothing. Unfortunatly after I got it home the Alpha stopped working so I brought a new one off the net.

Still not working with the new alpha.  I turned it on today and all segments of the alpha lit up and after turning on and off - it went blank again.

Any ideas?

Game play is non existent without it as half the features depend on the alpha.

Cheers!

First thing I checked! No evidence of battery leak at all on the upside and the underside of the board. Any other ideas?

take some clear photo's of battery area and put them up here, also take a photo of the lamp board and also put it here.

It will be one or both of these that are faulty i reckon. This will be why you acquired it for next to nothing.

Not sure but think I can see a tiny amount of leakage residue... and unfortunately a tiny amount of leakage is often enough to kill these boards.

You have the Mark 2 lamp board, which was pretty reliable.

Is it still possible to obtain these boards - is there anywhere I can get them?

Battery leakage all around battery on main board ... Board U/S.

You may be lucky to get a guaranteed working board from Ebay, but guaranteed working usually = £50-£60 for a working mpu.

Everything from C49 up to and the left of U4 looks covered in green battery rot.

The back of the board must be showing the rot also.

They are MK2 lamp boards, not Mpu's.

Nope, that's a mark 2 lamp board. As Mavroz says above.

Epoch is after my time.
It does look like a mpu though.

There are various boards on eBay:

Make sure you don't get the SWP video quiz type by mistake!
