Hi guys iv got a rainbow riches 500 Rio cabinet but ever sins iv had the machine the note acceptor doesn't work. Iv fitted note acceptors to machines before but it's simply the fact I don't know what to do with this one. Part of me is thinking it's broke. It won't take notes but say you put the end of a knife into it it will reject it. Any ideas guys I know some of you on here are good with this type of machine. Thanks in advance.

It's a Japan cash. I don't know if this helps.

Has machine got cash in it?

It will need to have (or think it has) £100 min in coins in it or it won't work.

Does it start up when machine is booting?  You should hear it and also red lights will flash in the note slot.

Yeah its topped up to £1000. Iv just fixed it as the pc was broke. However the note acceptor has never worked. It makes the usal noise on powering the machine but won't take notes but will reject anything I try to put into it. With most note acceptors iv fitted you us ally have to put a key code into the machine but I can't seem to work this one out. I know the note acceptor has dil switches on the side of it but not sure what they need set on or what sequence to reset it with the machine

May need it's BNV key setting?

Don't ask me how to do this BTW, as I am totally new to notey's myself, having not long acquired a Red Show Me The Mummy.

As Phil has mentioned, there is a minimum coin count lockout on most machines, so to double check, force the machine in to test, and bring the coin in menu up, try the notey then and see if it works..... if this is so, then confirms a min coin lockout situ.
