File Name: Tuppenny Nudger 1600 DX

File Submitter: ploggy

File Submitted: 30 Aug 2016

File Category: MPS

Hello.  Me again.  Thought I would get out of my DX-making retirement and get something new done, so I did this.  It's a 1600 DX for a classic 2p nudger, Tuppenny Nudger. :)

This is the MPS version of Tuppenny Nudger, which isn't emulated currently.  Not to be mixed up with the version of Tuppenny Nudger that has already been emulated, which is on the MPU4 tech.

The flier that was used isn't very good unfortunately, so it will look a little blurry in places.  But it should be alright.  Use MFME3.2 to play.

Folks that made this layout possible are:  Richie100, for the flier picture.  And also Ady, for the reel images this uses. :)

Shortcuts are:

Collect - C
Nudge 1 - 1
Nudge 2 - 2
Nudge 3 - 3
Nudge Up - U
Gamble - G
Start - Space
Feature Stop - F
20p Insert - 0
2p Insert - 9

Enjoy!

You have no idea how much I put into this little machine

just to try and get that huge jackpot.

Thanks for the chance to get my revenge.

Let me at him.

This is probably set on the best stake/prize ratio you can get for a Tuppenny Nudger machine (£2/2p), but it's still super tight on giving the jackpot.  I think I've had it three times whilst doing the layout.  Most of the bigger wins come from the gamble.

Nice DX, good to see you Ploggy make one again and a machine that was unemulated before.

When you think about it, 10p wins for 2 symbols on a line, on a 2p play machine, was quite generous, particularly, if you didn't believe that machines were fixed, to only pay out a set percentage. I would have thought gameplay would have been a bit more exciting at 5p play.

Not really my type of machine, although I have played them before, but one of my late Nan's favourites back in the day. I always remember she used to really thump the nudge button, then bash the buttons to bring in the symbols, worried, she'd lose nudges if she took her time (which I remember some of these type of machines doing). I also remember her, saying, there's only one pear on the centre reel, so even back then, it paid to know your machine.

Many thanks for this superb dx ploggy, nice to see a layout from you. Wish i knew you was doing this, i have the maachine at home and couldve supplied some high res images.

I had no idea you had this, mate.  Would have obviously been better with hi-res photos to work from instead.  If you can get some nice, sharp shots, I could get it updated in the future.  :)

Might do the other jackpots as well while I'm at it.  There are roms for the £2.40 version, £3 version and weirdly a £4.80 version.  Anyone out there remember this?  I don't personally.  The £4.80 version must have been in another cabinet, as the reel/lamp order is completely different.

The 10p for two symbols is quite generous, but not having the ability to hold reels balances it out.  And the nudges would start to disappear once you used the first nudge.  But you had ample time to nudge in what you wanted.  The old, mechanical BFM Nudge Gambler used to be a bit more harsh on the nudges. :D

And you're right about knowing the reels.  All you had to do was remember where the high-value symbols were on the reels.  The bells, upwards, and you were set.  You didn't need to remember the other fruits as they were always in-view.
