We are desperate for new resources, especially epoch, but even some more classic machines.

Is there anyone here with a gaming license that could help out (AAA?).

Basically what I would suggest is buying machines, gather all the resources, and then sell them on again to recoup most of the money spent, which can then be used for the next buy.

Edit to add: Maybe the first group buy should be an A2 scanner so we can get glass scans in a single pass.

Great idea guitar, any thoughts on this guy's. As there's loads out there. Even some of the machine's bought could be sold on to members here first, like that discovery machine I found?

Great idea.  However in my humble opinion people are more likely to chip in (especially with the scenes history, *cough PEno1 cough* etc etc) if the emulator is released FIRST.  The emulator (I know the reasons why) has been delayed dozens of times and dozens of self imposed deadlines have come and gone and people are getting a) impatient and b) disbelieving.

Get 'a' version of the emulator out, even if it's not perfect so people can have a fiddle and get used to it and then I'm sure the group buy cash and other positive actions will start to flood in!

Yep a emulator with a few made up pdxs if needed for people to play around with it so they can get used to it first

And buying epoch machines is a bad idea as there not worth much so you would be losing a average of 80 a machine

Asking people for resources before they've seen a release of this epoch emulator with one working DX (the Simpsons as shown in the video?) is frankly daft (in my opinion) given the history of fruit machine emulation.

It doesn't matter how grainy or shit the layouts may be for now, they can be worked on later and people can gather resources once there is something for everyone to work with.

I also believe we have roms for grid runner. It would be great to have a huge release with loads of dxs but put the emulator out and it shouldn't take DXers too long to knock up some stuff (that sounds like I'm taking DXs for granted, but to all DXers out there, your work is greatly appreciated and never taken for granted)

The machines don't have to work to get pictures  / scans.

I 100% agree, I'm just throwing the idea out there at the moment.

But for example, there was a sys85 machine on ebay I saw via the mecca, 99p no reserve, not working. Which is the sort of thing we want. We have 4 sets of roms for sys85 and 1 machine's worth of artwork.

The problem is transport... As i said on another thread if no one can collect , then it is minimum 60 quid for a courier to collect and drop a machine off.

There is no way you will get that sort of money back for a non runner.

There's plenty of us dotted around the UK who could collect though, isn't there?

Even if they strip the machine for glasses, reel bands, and decals and just send those on to whoever for scanning (if they cant do it themselves).

If machine's are local to me then i'm up for it, but machine's rarely come up around here (within 30mile radius) if they do they're top dollar, maybe I "with help" could message the seller about that other machine I found. never actually asked but would arcade owners switch their machine's off so us members could take pics of rarer ones??

I am 99% sure that arcade owners with rarer machines would have no issue with someone taking pics of their machines off or on, if it was explained what the reason the pictures were needed for correctly.

Maybe this is the sort of group buy you're thinking about?  It's a club machine called Title Shot.  Epoch tech.  This thing took me to the cleaners a few years back. :D

It's been on EBAY for a while.  It did have a starting bid of £60, but it's been re-listed with a starting bid of £25.  Obviously a great price if it stays at that.  Here's a link to the auction:  http://www.ebay.co.u...YYAAOSwcL5XMF7c

The seller is: bg05enm  Lives in Stafford.

Is this not the club version of Fight Night?

Fight night runs in MFME will this not run in MFME?

Just a thought.

Looks a cracking deal at £25

Title Shot is an early Maygay clubber on Epoch, mate, so won't work on MFME.  Possibly Stealth tech, but I don't think so.  Got a few roms here for Title Shot as well.  But, alas, the sound roms are missing.

Hi mate

Is a shame re the sounds but hopefully they will turn up one day.

Odd how similar games run on different techs-so hence Fight night is a clone then of the clubber.

It looks a good game-I take it you lost a lot on it??

In the real world ive never got stuck(as such),on any clubber machine.

Closest I came to it was on a holiday park at Cayton Bay-They had a Club Casino Crazy.-some 20 years ago now,at least!!

I played the slot on and off throughout my weeks stay and was around £150-£200 in,when finally I got a board which gave me unlimited extra life's(no matter how many I lost-lol!)-If only that happened on every slot :nah:

I think it was £200 jackpot and I recall it was sooo loud lol-the entire club house could here not only the sounds but the coins as they cascaded out!!

Be good to see the slot (Title Shot) emulated.-And give it a bash,I might get some of your loses back mate-lol(If only!!!!)

ive got to second that. i really dont mind chipping in £20 for the cause, but we've not seen anything yet to prove its worth.
