For those of you who do not frequent dadsFme forum here's an update. Those of you who do have an account there is a ~40 page thread on there about it.

Here's the bullet points...

Things are moving along again quite quickly, I hope to have a release of MPU4 / IMPACT in around 4 weeks which will be a 2D emulator in the style of Amber 1 but not slow and buggy. I can promise at minimum fast and buggy, and hopefully fast and stable :) .

The initial release will be DirectX11 but there are plans to backport to DirectX9 at a later date.

As soon as the initial release goes out and any major bugs fixed I will start work on adding MPU4 Plasma & MPU4 Video.

I hope to release a tech every 3/4 weeks, whether a new tech or an old one. Don't panic Epoch is on the list.

Here's some screenshots, I'll post more as release nears.

Haven't been able to login to Dads Fme for long enough. Click login button and it just shows "error". Cannot contact dad to sort out, could someone ask him to contact me on there please?

Sorry to hijack the thread.

Thanks.

EDIT ..... sorted.

Thanks guitar for bringing these updates to fruit-emu once again it may bring some life back into here again, maybe the mame updates can also be linked to here as well.
Back to your emulator nice to hear it progressing alone hope to be able to play online again by the summer lol.
Thus directx will we have to download this program? To be able to play Amber2

Epoch hopefully will come along soon as I think that will give those of us still here and at DADs loads of stuff to get on with, creating lots and lots of new layouts and getting the scene buzzing again. (Hopefully!) Really looking forward to this

DirectX is the method of controlling the graphics card.

Win XP was DX9, Vista DX10.1, windows 7 onwards DX11 (or 12).

So you'll need windows 7, 8, 10 and a compatible DX11 gfx card to run it Amber initially, but like I said a backport will be coming to allow for greater compatibility.

Only the recent ones I did on impact tech, like clubbers red hot6, viva rock Vegas, Thunderbird's then the Awp,s pinball wizard, maximum overdrive, going for gold, popeye n olive, plus others.
I basically kept all my off/on artwork from the last few years sizes 12000x7000 so plenty big enough to re-dx for Amber or mfme if I got a bigger PC and the time came when my lappy died! As said before the online aspect of amber is what makes it miles more realistic than mfme, and look forward to it again soon

I should probably test a club machine out. Viva Rock Vegas is probably the best.

right how do I go about doing it?? Do I send you the off/on image then you do the rest as my layout would be small lol.

also its got dual lamping so that will test the emuator out.

just checked the artwork it appears I'm missing the red notes but have club thunderbirds @£250jp all three complete, the images are 2695x2000 in size and approx 15.4mb's

I've got a few jobs left to finish before I can start building test layouts, I'll post more when that changes.

Here's the lamp map for thunderbirds, it worked pretty well I'd say.

I haven't got close to setting up lamps yet, and I need to add the scaling functions, so it'll be a while before I do much more. But I'll keep you posted on progress.
