couldnt help notice that herondata have the nerve to ADD 20% to your win to cover the tax?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item33a6360235

in the even of a, say £100 win, they will add £20 off their own back - f*cking cheek.

can you imagine you you had a bustup and ebay refunded you the money, you wouldnt get the 20% tax back. soooo wrong

They're not allowed to do that.

http://sellercentre....-items-you-sell

"As eBay is primarily a consumer marketplace, you can't add VAT to the final item price after the item has been won. Please state the item price including VAT in your listing."

Yeah Ebay won't take any notice of something like that. They don't even have a proper category for reporting it.

I tried that. I guess the only real way is to buy one and refuse to pay the VAT.

Would they have to honour the price?

They could refuse to sell it to you, and although they would be in technical breach of contract they'd get away with it.

The more peeps that report it surely they will do something about it.

I see that they have removed the bit about adding on VAT now, but there is still an odd reference on the listing
"THIS ITEM IS SUBJECT TO DELIVERY COSTS OVER AND ABOVE THE PURCHASE PRICE".

Most people would normally tend to expect that delivery costs will be extra on a large machine that's only cost 90 quid, wouldn't they?
