memex piggyback board with "altera" chip (S4)

Hi guys,

 

Could anyone enlighten me as to what these are/do? Looks like a chuzzy board to me....

hmm maybe not. Little more investigation seems like it's just a game board :(

Isnt that a sound extension board? Or a board S4 uses for sythesizing sound like an old scorp2?

 

Then again barcrests MPU5 had its own sythesizer, I think they only used it on red gamings version of line up.

Its a MAB kit, not a chuzzy, rom goes in the longer socket and a input output chip which has to be removed from the motherboard then fits in the smaller socket, the altera is a specially programmed logic chip rather like a security device


Its for bar x or big 7's type of electrocoin machines
