MPU5 Emulation

Best Answer Magz, 23 February 2015 - 08:18 PM

Hi and welcome!

If you want MPU5 based games then you'll need to...

Download MFME 9.x or 10.x (or get both as some games prefer one or the other) from the emulators section.

Download the layout and rom zip file for the game(s) you want from the MFME9.x section.

Extract the downloaded .ZIP to a folder on your PC.

Run MFME and open the .gam file from the folder to which you extracted the layout/roms zip file.

And that's about it.

Usually it's 0 to insert a virtual £, space for start and 1,2,3 for the holds. The ` key (next to 1 on most keyboards) is also usually cancel.

Good luck!

Hey.

So, I've joined today, made a small donation and have a desire to play three games (all Vivid). Basically, games which I won and lost a fair bit if cash as a early twenties barman, as I was putting myself through Uni!

Knowing next to nothing about fruit machines, so I assume MPU5 refers to the base hardware? Anyway, there's quite a few emulators knocking about, so my question is, which one will play Card Shark, Pie Factory and Six Shooter?

Also, do I need to have a BIOS file? Or is it load and go?

Thanks for your assistance :-)

Welcome aboard, as magz says it's pretty straightforward once you get the knack of it :)

Hi.

Thanks for the very useful information and warm welcome. I'm not a newbie when it comes to emulation - though my bag is videogames. However, I has me a hankerin' for some fruit machines :-). I noticed that MPU5 is not emulated yet in Mame, though the dumps are included within the romset. Hence the rather simple questions.

Thanks again for the help. This looks a pretty helpful forum.

Cheers

Welcome to Fruit-emu.

It's fairly straight forward. If you can get mame running mfme is a breeze :)

Also, if you're unsure what buttons>key board, most have clickable lamps/button, so just use your mouse.

Conversly, if you get MPU5 up and running in MAME, you'll be treated like royalty round here :)

Welcome to the site.
