OK,

I know it's not a big players machine, but I have always wanted this game and I have FINALLY bought it on Ebay. Soooo excited right now.

I've not picked it up yet, so I don't know what settings it's on, but I'm presuming it's on a £25jp. What I am asking is this:

Where can I purchase the kits to change this to £5 jp, or £25 jp. I'm sure many years ago, you could buy it from Astra if you were an operator (Trained with Leisure Link) but not sure how you do it nowdays, or if it's just a case of a stake / prizes key.

Obviously it's going to be hard to get stuff including decals nowdays, but any help will be greatly appreciated.

Here's the machine in Question:

On any of these type of sit down party games machines, it's all managed via a stake / prize key, so that is an easy one to sort.

As for the decals, I am not 100% sure, but I think the decals are all standadised accross the range, so you may find contacting steveh @ MPU Mecca (He also has his own site), he maybe able to help you here.

I spoke to Astra games just now & they said that this machine has a security module which stops the jp being changed without the correct security module for the software & obviously you can't get hold of it now due to the age of the machine.

Anyone know anything about this?

You was lucky to get that out of them! Yes due to the age of the machine Astra will no longer support them.

I'm just confused as on the eBay listing, it says that it can be set higher.

Crown Leisure said there's a few out there that don't require the security chip.

Is there anyone out there who can source parts for the Party Times that would work on this?

As stanmarsh14 says the price of play and jackpot should be switchable using the stake/prize key - if you need the manual I have a pdf of this machine.

I've edited out your email now, so that it doesn't get scraped by spambots!

This may actually be correct, as it would explain the extra set of chips I found in this 6 player party time I have been asked to look over.

Which effectivey would make it unusable, as the chips will be harder to find than rocking horse ****

Unfortunately I don't know enough about them in this aspect, however it could be the case they may have this security chip requirement patched out / missing on some game revision, like how it is on some Maygay M1 a / b games (They normally use a small black plug in dongle, but there is a known way to patch this out).

However, only way to be certain, is to get just 1 switchable key, and having one unit only powered up, give it a go and see what happens.

Yeah. Depending on how long you have it, I can snap some pics of my PCB when I get it for comparison :-)
