Hi all, just wandering if somebody could help me.

I downloaded Run for your money in mfme 1.0 and copied it to my folder, ran fine.

However trying to do same (mfme 1.0) in Rocket Money and Money Spinner, but when I load it

up as normal it comes up with sound file and rom file not found?

Does anybody know if these games run, or am I trying to run something that doesn't exist?

Cheers for all help.

They all run, I never use mfme 1.0 mainly 3.1/3.2 for these games. I take it you've got the roms in the same brown file as the layout/day.file

I think so.

All I'm doing is downloading the file, highlighting all the boxes with CTRL, copy and then paste into the folder.

What's strange is things like Rocket Money work, but you do EXACTLY the same thing with others such as Money Spinner

but comes up with sound file not found, layout file not found.

Bit strange?

Ok, here's an example.

I just downloaded Money Spinner in exactly same way as other games, firstly tried it in mfme 1.0 and you get sound file not

found and layout file not found.

I then tried in in 3.0 and 3.1, and now getting error message of CLASS TLED LABEL NOT FOUND.

Any help here please?

Are you downloading the ROM as well as the layout? Can't see the ROMS for money spinner on this site?

That could be the reason!

This sounds like a really silly question, but when you download a game in 'downloads' and you see a machine you like

how do you know if it's the complete machine with roms, so that it can run?

I'm assuming if roms and layout isn't there as one then it will keep giving me error messages?

You obviously need both the ROM and layout to run a machine. Most layouts on here contain both. Usually layouts without a ROM are simply labelled as a Layout, where as a complete package would not mention it being a layout. For example "Addams Family 1024dx" should be a complete package. whereas if it said "Addams Family 1024dx Layout" would be a layour without a ROM.. usually..

Just extract both the ROM and layout files to the same folder (no sub folders) or if its a package just unzip to any folder

Didn't it have something to do with the roms not being allowed in the same folder as the art work to stop any issues with copyrights or something of that nature. But as N01 says it sounds like you are missing part of the files. I am after finding the roms to empires bank raid, but that's another story lol.

I find some games actually run in 1.0, which fail in 3.2

Agreed. Certainly for the old shite I prefer to play. I often wonder if the old layouts could be fixed so they do work in either 3.2 or 10.1. I have had a dabble, but mixed results - well mixed in abject failure terms.
