Donate Here

This thread has been created for all members who have wanted or who wish to donate in memory of a much respected and much missed member 'thunderstorm', who has sadly died within the past few days.

All donations can be made with the link above... this link will remain active until at least the beginning of November in order to comfortably accommodate all members finances within that time if they are wanting to donate.

When it gets nearer the time, I will create a poll in a separate thread with charity selections and the the one with the highest votes will receive all monies collected from within the donation link (this can be accommodated to more than one charity if members so wish at the final outcome)

Remember please, this donation link is in loving memory of Neil (thunderstorm) and not for one particular charity, so please refrain from stating where you would like your donation to go until the separate poll thread is created...

...this is about a fellow FME member - not a particular cause, please let us keep this thread respectful and keep it that way.

May Neil be free and at peace now xx

Thanks for getting this set up. I did post a link to this site to the family member i was talking to yesterday and she is very grateful for all the kind words and all that is being done in his name. I will try and sort a donation out but I do not have a paypal, if any other options are made available like by debit/credit card i can then make a donation. Thank you.

you don't need a paypal account to pay with paypal, you can still use your card with it, it is on the left hand side of the payment page when you get to paypal.

Just donated by card simple to do but why does it take a fee from you I suppose its paypal's way of making a few quid although if people donate and I think put gifted then you won't be charged that's what my partners paypal does.

It is a bit disappointing that it takes fees, as I'd assumed that donations would be classed as personal payments, and these are normally fee free with Paypal.

I typically send and receive Paypal 'Gift' payments when trading with people, and you don't pay fees but lose any protection that Paypal might have offered if say the goods didn't turn up or weren't in the described condition. That doesn't apply here though.

Perhaps there haven't been any fees charged by Paypal, and it's just the forum assuming that fees have been charged?

[edit]

Yeah, just checked my email and see the following :

Name:   Al********mer (The recipient of this payment is Non-US – Verified)

Email:   dup******.com

Total amount:   -£10.00 GBP

Fee amount:   £0.00 GBP

Net amount:   -£10.00 GBP

Donation Amount:   -£10.00 GBP

... so I'm guessing they are being received fee-free, which is nice :)

There are no fees.  The software was assuming fees were payable and was subtracting this from the donated amount.  This is corrected now so you can see the full amount.

If you pay in $ the bank may charge you for paying in $'s rather than £'s. I paid for a game on facebook it was only a small £0.75 item but my bank charged me £1.25 for paying in $'s

*** Edit by Daryl ***

Please note that the Donations thread is active until at least well into November, so there is no pressure whatsoever for ANY member to make a donation that they cannot afford, until they feel comfortable to do so - and then a poll will be active for members to decide where the donations can be sent.

There is at least another month for it to continue running mate - that is why I made the donation for a longer period, to cover anyone wishing to donate who budget monthly, or indeed are paid monthly :)

Yes I know M8.

What with the funeral being tomorrow, felt the topic should be top of the list as a matter of respect.

I am so wanting to do this too for him, but I have an extremely busy day ahead tomorrow, and timekeeping, as well as day keeping isn't my strongest point anymore...

...however - he will be in my thoughts for a long time to come, and I am certain that he will know that if I don't manage to observe the silence, it wouldn't be out of any disrespect for him or his memory

Bless him - be at peace x
