After 24 hours the members post become locked in for editing I believe now

I'm sure Ady or duplu will put you right on this :)

I'm pretty sure it's a lot less than 24 hours. Can't be sure as it's been a while since I tried to edit a post after the allotted time, but it's more like 30 minutes I think :o

There certainly isn't any delete tab and even after 5mins it doesn't do the edited properly. As in palm springs topic I tried to changed the image to the completed image and rewrite the post and all it done was change the image then I tried to quote myself and all that did was repeat the written reply from above that, strange unless its just my lappy doing it

What's the reason ?

And yes have never been able to delete a post

If you can edit a post, presumably you can delete all the text in it leaving a blank post. I've seen forums in the past where a member spits there dummy out and removes all the text in their posts and then threads no longer make sense. So the time limit does have a valid use.

Imagine Vectra666 deleting his first post, or deleting all the text. This thread would certainly look odd.

Do we really need an edit feature?   I don't think it's something I would personally miss.   Shouldn't really need to edit an already posted message after even 10 mins surely.

sure i understand that , but some forums will show what was posted before the delete or edit

idk its not a big problem but if i post something then realise someone else posted the same i want to be able to delete it within a certain time frame , like i say i can live with it how it is , in fact you've won me round so long as EVERYONE cant do it im fine with it

Whatever the timing is, let's say 5 minutes....isn't that enough?

When I post I read it and correct straight away if i'd messed-up.

Why after an hour or so would you want to delete or edit............other than to suit?

Just my feedback ;)
