I totally agree Alt, but who gives a f***, it has been enjoyable picking the software I require, rather than deleting the syuff I dont require.

Understand your views though, but as an Apple lover, we are drawn between two viewpoints, so personally no body will ever be right, apart from the tossers who selll the product and make no end of loot.!!

Yes but the adverts on TV are misleading also, it is making out that it can do something that no other phone can internet, mp3, video mine can do that, its technology is about the same as a K750i yet costs hundreds of pounds more plus its the most ugly phone since the Ngage and is about the same size as the QD.

just seems far too overpriced for its funcionality, as a mobile phone goes apart from its interface its quite a way behind the general phones that are out at the moment.

To sign up to an 18 month contract and have to fork out a fair whack initially is a bit excessive

Jim, yes I totally agree with that, and the contract thing is shocking!!!!.... but mine is chipped and sim free, unlocked or whatever you want to call it. Apple will realise this one day... but at present who gives a toss if they are raping the market with there new product.

This speaks for it self

If you want it, you will pay for it. If you dont, they dont buy it. Its as simple as that.

If you want it you are extremely stupid and obvoiusly have too much disposable income it is not worth one sixth of what they are charging and it is doomed to fail cos of this Apple have priced it out of the top of the range market.

Gary I appriciate your view, but this phone is not a joke, I have had mine for over 6 weeks now and love every minute of it. How much did you pay for yours by the way??? or are you just slating Apple for the fun of it..

Yeah was kinda bored at the time lol haha

it does look very over priced though to be honest same with the ipod.

did anyone see the gadget show on channel 5 a few weeks ago?

i know very little about these expensive phones and have never used a mac so no nothing about apple products.

i just wondered was their report on it accurate? on the program, its main downfall seemed to be that you could not video record. also the battery could not be replaced by you, you would have to send it back to apple. but they did point out that the battery had a much longer life between charges which i can see the advantage.

my friend recently upgraded his phone to i think its the latest nocia £500 phone although he got it as an upgrade on hisorange contract. on his new phone, if he plays mp3s for 2 hours, the battery is dead or he has to leave the phone off to preserve the battery. seems pretty pointless to me. if i wanted an all in one phone and was going on a day trip involving travelling 2 or 3 hours each way and wanted to listen to music on my train journeys, i would need a battery life of around 12 hours, say 6 hours of music listening, and the remainder so i can make and receive calls/take the odd photo. i don't think any phone has this kind of battery capacity apart from the apple one. so much cheaper to buy a separate mp3 player £65, a crap phone thats only capable of making and receiving calls/texts, £20 and a digital camera which did cost £500 about 6 years ago.

my friend had his phone nicked soon after he got it. insurance was included under the terms of his contract but for various reasons, it took a couple of weeks to get his replacement. the last couple of phones i've had have cost £21/£20. i lost the first phone so just purchased the second one. my wife has had her basic mobile phone for around 4 years now. it seems to me that you are far less likely to have an old or cheap mobile nicked and if they do, there not going to get much more than a fiver for it.

i am interested in the all in one phone type technology but it seems to me that you either have to spend 100s of pounds on one or get tied into 18 month contracts that end up costing just as much.

 Alth :)

Sorry, going to be blunt.

Anyone that pays a huge sum of money upfront and then even more for a lengthy contract is crazy...

like, cmon its like buying a ferarri and getting a 1.2 corsa engine fitted  all dressed up and no go.

I dont fall for looks only and I dont give a hoot that people will think, wow hes got an Iphone, hes cool  If I ever see someone with one i'll make a point of them looking like a fool for owning one :)

Richardpen: if you are talking about the phone I think then yes I agree it has got a bad battery life.

See, battery life does not bother me, all you need to do is make sure you have means to charge it wherever you go, I have yet to run out of battery anywhere so I dont see what the fuss is about. Preparation is the key ;)

Also a FW update helps, mine lasts much longer now :), tell him to do that and also turn the phone to offline mode when listening to Mp3's Loads of tips for those sort of phones over at The premier place for symbian users, supported with the No. one smart phone discussion forum
