Default Pub mode vs Arcade Mode

Anyone know how to change JPM Rollercoaster and IMPULSE Hurricaine and Gridrunner from pub node to arcade mode ??

I read somewhere that pub mode has less skill features, and arcade mode is aimed at the more skilled players that are aware of all the features etc.

I own these machines and don't have manuals, so was wondering if anyone could help me out!

its different program chips that you need.

the only difference between the modes is the following.

pub mode lets the machine payout more smaller wins so the running % is roughly the same all the way through, arcade mode will run the % down lower than the set % but then payout a huge amount at one time so the % can even itself out again.

best stick to the pub modes.

Do some of the emulated latest impact jpm machines have a pub/arcade mode? Are the roms available for both? Would be interesting to see the difference.

I remember playing a bellfruit dough ho ho I think in a pub it was really enertaining regular feature entry etc then [;ayed it in an arcade ate £30 in 5 minutes

How do you tell if you have arcade or pub roms then ??? I notice that my Gridrunner saves up cash and then goes on a bender for a streak, then goes tight again. The Rollercoaster machine seems to do the same, offering nemesis after it has sucked up a lot of cash. The Hurricaine machine i have seems to do the same.

Are these all arcade mode ones ?

Wish they had a switch inside that let you select the mode!

Just to add to this though it's not the full answer...

On certain machines you'll see a lamp on the top glass, and it'll actually tell you what it's set as..Pub, Arcade or Ferry (I believe the last is right)

Just below the coin mech, on a few very modern machines (mostly Reds?)
Pint for the pub mode
One armed bandit for arcade mode
Boat for ferry mode (not sure this light exists)
Horse's head for Mafia mode (20% payout + certain death if you start a Fairplay campaign)

Or..

Horse's Head for LBO (Licenced Betting Office i.e. bookies) mode. Somewhere in between pub and arcade mode.

LBO mode garauntees a bigger streak but costs a lot more to get, so I guess you should sayarcade mode is between LBO and Pub?

LBO Mode changes the way the lamps on the machine flash during an attract mode.

In a normal pub / arcade, the attract mode will normally be very fast and bright, to get as much attention as possible. In LBO mode, it'll actually normally be dimmer and a lot slower. It's designed that way so it doesn't detract from the other gambling going on - and also for pubs say which don't want the machine to pollute the environment with it's bright lights

Dont think you can change the profiles of older machines such as Rollercoaster,Gridrunner ect.

As far as Red Gaming machines go then yeah you can, although only on the newer ones .I have Jewel Strike ( 2002) and its stuck on the original setting.

If for example you were " forcing a jp " on a new red then the arcade setting is where the biggest streaks are imo.

when jpm's were released you usually got the machine sent to you with arcade chips in them and then had to download or request for the standard versin (as it was called back then)
