To make money I'd imagine.

I'd avoid online slots more than pub ones.

I joined that site last week to see what it was like, and I thought it was really disappointing. 3% of your stake on the slots goes towards the random progressive jackpots, meaning the actual games play quite badly, with over-complicated features and no real feel to them. I expected it to be much better.
Watch out! There's a SIG thief about...

Never been tempted into the 'murky world' of online gambling , to me it dosent have the same 'real feel' as normal slotting , if that makes sense ?

3% isnt too bad considering the potential prizes from the progressive but if you dont hit one then yeah your going to notice it quite a bit.

Having said that is it really any different to inland arcades running 50p and £1 play machines at like 80% and lower! not really.

I real like the site-
I have played for real but only put 20quid on,and no I didnt win,but I did have a crack at the jackpot feature!
Alas I only won the basic pot, which was around £29.I could have got more and people do-but like all gaming sites its luck and above all betting what you can afford to lose!
I only play on free play now and I real like the slots and features.
Any site is gona encourage you to bet more, thats how they make their money!!!
I have a lot more control now with gambling, and im not suggesting anybody commenting on this post hasn't! But I have been there with a real bad addiction to slots as I know a lot of members have on here. And I more than sympathise with those out there who have addictions to any form of gambling, all I say is you aint alone and help is out there.

I've played absolutely loads of sites. but i personally think jackpotparty isn't bad. i haven't won loads but i find some slots are far better than others. the star trek ones tend to pay out above 5 pounds on feature most times but other slots can give you a feature and you win nothing. lowest stake of course. but i have played for over am hour on that site with just a ten pound deposit which is much better than i have ever got time wise on sky Vegas. even though i hkave won the jackpot on the pirates rainbow riches clone. also i have won 3k on William hill flash game off a 3pound stake but that was a few years back.winning happens less frequently nowadays.

can't beat a casino or old style arcade for fun. its awkward online because its hard to tell if you really are getting a fair random deal.

Well I'm doing OK there :)

Have to say I really quite like the Jackpot Party game style, very different approach to both Microgaming and IGT online casinos.

3% isnt too bad considering the potential prizes from the progressive but if you dont hit one then yeah your going to notice it quite a bit.

I have to say my feelings towards Jackpot Party are changing.

I had a really good result off my initial depost, £150+£150 match up, withdrew £350 after meeting the wagering requirements so £200 up off that.

Then I deposited £200 on the monthly 'Double Your Play' match up, so had £400 to play with, and managed to withdraw £700 off that, so another £500 profit - total £700 profit.

For the entire time I just played at the lowest stake each game would allow with all lines, between 20p and 40p per spin, never any higher.

However, I got really lucky and hit the JPP feature three times on those first two deposits (videos on my channel), and every time got one star, otherwise I'd have been wiped out long before I met the wagering requirements.

Since then I've put £275 back (1x£100, £1x100, £1x50 plus £25 cashback) - and carried on playing at the lowest stakes possible, not had a sniff of another JPP, and when you don't get the JPP feature the 92% payout compared to the more normal 95% really starts to hurt over thousands of spins.

Plus the JPP feature trigger is weighted according to stake, so what you tend to see is the same high stakes players getting the JPP feature time and time again and mopping up the 0 star or 1 star progressive prizes.

It's a lose-lose really, as for low stakes players a £50-£100 progressive pot is a big win, but to someone playing £20 per spin it's barely a scratch. So the net effect is low stakes players hardly ever get to see JPP and are thus in effect playing 92% slots, and the high stakes players get JPP all the time but it's neither here nor there for them, but does at least mean they get more like the 92%+3% so closer to 95% payout.

And then on the Jackpot Party official YouTube channel you see craziness like this, someone playing £200 PER SPIN, if JPP trigger is weighted according to stake, what chance do low stakes players have in comparison? In effect the low stakes players are just turning 3% of every pound they wager over to the high stakes players.

Now I can't really complain, I'm still £450 in profit overall at Jackpot Party, but TBH without any JPP hits (and I haven't had one for thousands and thousands of spins now), I'm just going to get ground down against the lower than usual 92% payout. Plus I've heard lots and lots of stories about how people get very lucky in their early days playing at the site, get a JPP or two, that sort of thing, and then it all clams up. Not sure how true that is but it has been my experience to date I have to say.

I'm thinking of just taking the money and running as it were, and perhaps revert to Microgaming/Kerching/Sky Vegas, where at least you can play slots at a solid 95% regardless of what stake you're on.

I might give the Double Your Play another go this month at Jackpot Party, and if that's a wipe out, just call it a day there. Even if I lose the £200 I'll still be £250 up overall there.

Video below, people playing at these crazy stakes doesn't seem to be that rare, quite a few videos where the stake is between £50 and £200 per spin (!!!!).
