Can arcade owners these days remotley see on a server all the info about each machine, without the need of going upto each one and popping a refil key in to check hopper balances and whatnot?

Yes. But such installations are still fairly rare.

The Playsafe system has had that sort of stuff for over a decade, and there are other systems.

I remember back in 96 when I was working at Gala bingo Grimsby they where able to view what the machines had taken how much they had paid out how much was in hoppers etc. It was all done in the back office but I never saw any of it as I was just a crappy bingo caller lol. My m8 was pally with the machine guy and got a little info on which ones had the largest hoppers or should I say the ones more likely to pay out. It was never 100% tho as he got stung on a £250 reo grande or what ever it was called by Barcrest.
