Hi all,

I've just picked up a Joker Poker by Project Coin - I've never had one of these before and wondered if anyone could give me some pointers.

First thing I would like is a manual - does anyone have one they could email me, or point me in the right direction to find one?

The other thing is it doesn't start at the moment.  There is power to the screen (displays "no signal") and the lamps within the machine light up, but there is no LED's on the CPU board.  Everything looks ok visually, so I'm hoping it is something simple.  I had a look at the power supply but there doesn't appear to be any fuses etc to check.  Does anyone know where the fuses might be on this machine, so I can see if any are blown?

Finally, the bottom of the machine is locked (it is empty as the cashbox is within the main cabinet), and the only thing in the bottom half is the speakers.  Still, I would like to get in there but there is no key.  What is the best way to drill a round style key lock?

Thanks in advance!

Mark

Thanks in advance,

Mark

I have this machine so may be able to help, it sounds like a motherboard problem, make sure all connectors are in correctly & the game card is in correctly (the circuit board that plugs in the front of the mainboard)

I don't get any leds on my motherboard, they flash once when power is applied.

Also my bottom box don't have no lock, no door, no access.

Good thing with these is you can get a main board for about £12 on ebay.

Thanks Richy, appreciate the advice.  I didnt have much time last night, but tonight I will check everything is plugged in tightly.  It definitely seems like there is no power to the motherboard as there are no LED's lighting, either on switch on or any other time.  It looks like the same power supply provides the AC to the screen so I know the AC part is definitely working.

Yeah, I've seen some of these in arcades where there is no lock on the bottom door as it is sealed from the front, however unusuall mine does have a lockable compartment at the bottom!  Very odd, maybe some were made differently to others?  I've orderd some HSS drills so will have a go at drilling them out when I get a chance.

I dont suppose you have a manual for this do you?  Or know where I could get one?

Thanks again, Mark

Can you get anything down the gap between the door where the lock is?, a wall paper scraper or something like that?

No manual, thinking of selling my machine bored with it.

No the original was on pluto as well not PC92

Also be careful buying one off ebay as there is a difference between pluto 5 and pluto 5 casino.

I also don't think you will get a Pluto 5 casino as cheap as £12. but good luck if you do :)

Thanks guys, I was home late tonight so didn't get a chance to do much.  I checked the connections on the board were tight - and they all were so it made no difference.

However, on the board I think it said Pluto 5 Calypso - does that sound right?

Should have more time tomorrow so will have a proper look then!

Thanks again, Mark

Hi all, good news - I've made some progress!

I actually have 2 of these machines, but the other one was packed away.  Anyway, I got out the other machine and swapped over the power supply and hey presto - the faulty one now works!  So it is obviously the power supply I need.

Does anyone know if the power supplies on these can be repaired?  Or if not, where I would buy a new one?

They have a 240v kettle lead in, an AC male version out (to power the screen) and DC outputs at the back or side (they are different on each of mine).

So, does anyone have any ideas?  Or one they want to sell me?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Hi Richy,

Now I've got the loaned power supply in it, I can actually play it - and it is fun!  But, is there any tricks (not cheats!) where you always go hi or low on certain numbers on the gamble, or am I thinking of a different machine?

Cheers, Mark
