Confusing to say the least. Is this an officially sanctioned move? I really really hope NO layout is altered at all as I've spent 12 years cataloguing layouts and I really don't want to redo all that hard work.

If you are interested I have snap shots of all the layouts.

no I am only updating screen shots and as in the past members leaving the site and coming back on a new account put under the same username so there was  layouts what guest so that's been put right  and I have had do a couple 1 edit on a download name as it was called pivaual pursuit instead of triv pursuit and plus theres no dead zips as they are done

Were they what was used in the searchable snapshots website that was yours and Morts, and hosted on DADs? If so, would it be possible to resurrect this and have it hosted here somehow, although there may be a cost involved in that.

Snapshots hosted on DadsFme was a more time efficient way of searching for the latest revised layouts than Fruit-Emu's download section.. the only thing I would change is to add a download link to the layout It could be multi hosted across file host sites: mega, onedrive and hosted on fruit emu server and torrent site that will reduce Fruit Emu's bandwidth hosting expenses which will offset the advertising revenue lost from people spending less time on average visiting the site but should give downloaders a more pleasant & positive experience with simplified downloads they will see what FME has to offer and may wish to contribute with resources and creating layouts instead of wasting time shifting through tens of thousands of layouts in download section.. I got most of the layouts I wanted by manually searching entire download section of FME forums but Snapshots helped me a lot by showing me what I missed and made me confident I wasn't missing out on hidden treasures

Re. Copyright and ownership - might be useful to have a read of this:

That clears that up then but the layouts made aren.t subject to copyright rules, but aren't the fruit machines we're emulating subject to copyright   But yes i see your point regards layouts And the layout in question made in early 2013 was made for my own personal use of which i used the background image and re-lit it and found more lamps not in use on the original, but was requested by a member so uploaded it. If this is the case then my layout Elimator  is in fringe of copyright regulations as i used Ploggy's background image (machine only) ((with his permission i may add!!)) then relit it and added sideart. Also if i am penalised for doing these type of layouts then every converted layout from mfme to amber should be changed to the original creator.

No intention to penalize... It's a very complex area of discussion as previous threads on similar subjects have shown in the past.

With my relative lack of knowledge on the subject of emulation it still strikes me as remarkable that some fairly small changes can be made to something and that as a result of this someone else can put their name on it.

Incidentally these views and opinions are entirely my own...

true!! but I can honestly say with ALL my releases I may have used some background art on some but I have re-lit each one of them in my own work via photoshop. Where possible I do source artwork so I can make the emulations from scratch but even that's getting harder, I'm scraping the barrel now with dodgy photo's like trick or treat, terminator, manhattan skylines an my next up and under nudger.
