Yes it's that time of the year and all the local fetes carnivals are happening. You see all the usual side stalls, but not always the 'Human Fruit Machine' A.K.A. The Three Armed Bandit!!!!!!

Seeing it was such a lovely day I visited the magnificent Cromer Pier in Norfolk and came across such a machine. £1 for 4 plays, Ist play nothing, 2nd play 3 pears £1, 3rd play 3 lemons another £1, 4th play 2 oranges 40p.

£2.40 result....which went straight into the Diabetes collection box. Really good laugh with the guys and gals and all for a good cause.

Anyone else comes across one  please post on this thread with a photo and if managed to get a win, or memories of similar machines.

In my cancer research fund raising days I used to do a similar thing but we used coloured balls in bags and each person picked one out the bag.

I was responsible for calculating the true random odds / probability we always designed them around the 50% payout mark, and were extremely popular and fun being totally random.

It was an extremely good way to fund raise as most people that won the smallest prizes use to donate it back to us anyway !!

Our best ever day we raised over £1000 and back then it was a huge amount of money for a fate !

Indeed it should, but then who cares, they are raising cash for a good cause....

In this thread :- http://www.fruit-emu...e-2#entry272432 you said...

"Gambling is an terrible addiction that can shatter peoples lives - why is there a topic glorifying it ?"

------------------------

Should that not be........Gambling is a terrible addiction?

Just waiting for a case where someone calls the Gambling Commission out because they feel it's unfair :D
