Right then folks that's me getting ready to jet off to the Philippines. First long haul flight and first time flying since 2002. Since which I have watched every single episode of seconds from disaster and air crash confidential. I wasn't expecting to be flying any time soon but my insurance cash came through so decided to go with the gf's mum and the girlfriend to meet all her family over there.

Got a few things lined up too like scuba diving and climbing up mount pinatubo. The volcano that killed quite a few people back in 1991/2. It should be a great experience and I hope to enjoy it fully (if we get there that is) and make the most of the sun when it decides to come out. Its forecast two weeks of thunder storms (yes John will grab vids if I can) so I hope 3 weeks and r days is enough to get a tan.

Flight number is cx256 and departs Heathrow at 20.15 tonight. I'm meant to be sleeping but how can you when your flying to the other side of the world.

So tally ho chaps have a good start to summer.

I'm here now all safe and well folk. The weather is super super hot and the rain is like nothing i seen before. I will upload some photos and video when I get the chance. Going to 100 Islands tomorrow and may try and do some scuba diving if possible.

Yep, was watching your FB wall, and for want of a better word, you sort of bricking it, but trust me, far more likely to fall over a pile of broken fencing, than a plane would crash

Can rememebr when I first flew, which was to JFK Airport, NY, not long after the twin towers got flattened..... did not bother me one single bit, though the damage and well wishes left near ground zero was a bit daunting.

Been to NY again, and also a few visits to Denver, CO..... loved it, especially in Denver.

Nope I got that last year. This was from another claim where a cellar lid in the street collapsed as I was running down the road. I got £2,000 for this claim.

Your not wrong about the meat balls being the dogs bullocks bri. They have two types of dogs here. The wild ones which roam free and are left to do what they want and there are dogs they feed well and look after. The latter ones are the ones they later go on to eat.

Spent the night under the stars last night (fri nite) on the beach. It was amazing. Soooo hot. Woke up to a big snake slithering past on its way to eat some food left on the beach. Ive tried uploading photos but it wont upload from my mobile so will try from a pc if I am aloud to use it. But there connection speed is 5 times slower than my mobile connection. There dl speed is 70kbs and upload is only 18kbs depending on time of day weather etc. Yesterday reached 46° which is the hottest ive ever experienced in my life. It felt like I was stood over a gas hob on full power just breathing in the hot air, thats how hot it was. Even the phillippino people couldn't cope with the heat. Yay my photo finally uploaded it just takes about 10 minutes to upload a a single photo haha. This was on the beach Friday night. We had freshly caught fish with red horse larger.

It must be magical mate and the chance of a lifetime to get to go there.

Savour every minute of it, both Kim and you - and when you get back to 'good old Blighty' you both will always have treasured memories on your darkest and miserable days here... that can only be a tonic in itself.

Abroad is horrible to me... I know - I've been there!

Not sure if this will work but here is a couple of photos. The right mouse button is all in filipino lol. I went to some water falls and managed to only hurt myself a little as there is sooo much slippery slime on the rocks under the water. The views from the top of the mountains was truly amazing too. The alcohol is very very cheap. 1 UK pound = 73 Peso haha get pissed for less than a quid. Im  sorry its just URL's but the internet here is very very poor. It's faster on mobile tbh with most homes only getting about 590kbs download and only about 50kbs upload. and thats on a good day. I hope u are all able to see my great experiences and absolute terror of the flights haha. Only 8 days left its almost wednesday 6 hours away and i hope to go to mount Pinatubo before we leave  

Oh and I went to the miss hay Philippines 2014. Got to say it was a most strange experience lol.  

Me totally shitting my pants at Heathrow lol.

Well that's about it, my dream holiday draws to a close. Just 10 hours before we leave for our 6 hour drive to the airport then another 2.5 hours to Hong Kong with a 7 hour wait there before we have our 15 hour flight back to UK before our 3 hour coach trip. I swear we have lost 4 days of our holiday traveling haha. 

 

Flights CX904 & CX253 for anyone who is interested. 

I am not sure if you can see the pictures above so, sorry if that is the case. 

 

I just hope that I can try and enjoy these flights instead of crapping my pants like the first 2.
