Hi Guitar,

 

Many thanks for all that you do with Amber

 

Just a quick question, how long should it take to connect to the server?  Have been attempting to connect for 5 mins.

It should take a few seconds, maybe up to 45 if internet is being slow.

 

If you have firewalls etc, make sure port 4000 is open.

Just downloaded, looking forward to playing with it despite not knowing what the heck I'm doing

must say i'm very impressed with this especially the mini games hopefully more machines will be added including some by myself in my very own virtual arcade long live fme and ALL who makes this worthwhile

Hi Guitar,

 

Please excuse my lack of knowledge - how do I make sure that port 4000 is open - I'm on Windows 7 using Windows Firewall.

 

Also when loading layouts I'm getting the following: This is not a valid bitmap file.You must use a .png, .bmp, or .psd. file.

 

They will eventually load after hitting the escape key a few times.

There are still bugs I am ironing out. The Valid Bitmap error being one of them.

 

If you dont have any abnormal security port 4000 should open automatically when amber opens. I have seen you connecting to the serve so it is working.

 

Just in case anyone was curious how it looks at the server end. see pic.

just lost the connection to the server

 

i collected a bank would that have been lost

The Layout Converter needs an empty folder with it called conversion, totally forgot.

 

So you can either create a folder call "Conversion" in the same folder as the converter, or download from this link.

is the server online now mate. doesnt seem to be loggin in for me. fine until this release if it is online

if the server crashes or get took offline while people are playing

 

will it go to offline mode by default

 

but as soon i the layout is quit the emu crashes as it cannot send the state back to the server

There will be an emulator update available later today. The reel editor has a few bugs in it, as well as a few more options being enabled.

 

If anyone has any suggestions why AMD machines seem to be particularly slow please let me know.

 

My machine is an Intel QX9650 with an AMD 6970 Gfx card. and gets 400+ FPS

The other machine is an Intel Phenom II (overclocked) with AMD 6970 Gfx card. and gets 16 FPS.

Intel I3 laptop with onboard Gfx gets 100+ FPS.

Also FYI. The Server will be down from 4-5pm (will be up earlier if all goes well) to allow me to sort out some database issues.
