Most crap 80's fruities
As there's a thread on the best, what were the worst ones in your opinions?
For me, strike-a-light, razzle-dazzle, actionnote +clones (until it would
give you a roll), autoroute...
And for very early 90's - eastenders. When that wanted to suck
it did bigtime! Arthur always losing his job or getting a poxy 20p
in wages, Pauline always losing the days takings, getting thrown
out/barred by Grant, Phil saying yer car had to be scrapped.
And why on earth did they have back to the future as the feature
music?

Have to agree adydb - Razzle Dazzle, Autoroute, Fortune Numbers are classics in my eyes as well. I think the 80's were Barcrest's heydays. The worst from that period were Ace (Twilight Zone, Grand Prix, Open The Box etc.). Their machines would back and back until they were ready to pay big time - a bit like all machines released today.

im afraid i have to disagree. razzle dazzle, fortune numbers etc are some of the best machines ever made (inc exchanges unlimited and the like)
the worst for me was POUND STRETCHER by ace. sodding micro dots.
horrible machines

LOL. It's funny how people have different opinions about some fruities.
Those machines in the town i lived must have always been kept empty
perhaps because they would just eat & eat & eat..... you could put a
fiver in and get maybe 60p-1pound back most of the time.
Sure the features etc were good when you got them but, as i say, my
local ones were nothing but biotches.

Twilight Zone was brilliant... some massive runs on that machine!
TZ was a huge profit is played right and at the right time!

Hmmm. I've heard it all now... Razzle Dazzle/Autoroute/Strike-A-Light were crap, even at the time...?
Mind you, have to agree about Action Note and clones... these really were awful at the time, compared to JPMs of that era.

I used to play all the ACE machines like Twilight Zone, Grand Prix, Hi Rise, Pound for Pound, Open The Box and Play It Again to name several. These machines were very generous for the player who could work them out and see the signs. When they rolled, they would give out a £50 All Cash run of sub £2.40 wins one after the other. Not bad from a £4.80 token jackpot machine. I remember so called people in the know going on about the streaks would only start on a boxed sevens jackpot but I had several rolls start from nudging in 3 x Boxed Triple Bars from Unlimited Nudges or Nudge Quick on the Band Aids.
I don't think any 80's machines were crap. Machines really went crap when the manufacturers pushed the bigger jackpots and stubborn streaks. the fun vanished from playing machines.

Exactly my point... If you knew it was close to going mad you could easily make big streaks from it! Only had a TZ in my local though unfortunately not the others you mentioned... Am I right in saying these cannot be emulated yet? Would love to re-live the mental streaks!

If you guys had been in my town you would have cussed a-plenty.
About the only decent ones we had in my time there, other than when
the fair came once a year, were Big Shot, ye olde Pacman, Big Bank.
