I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE HERE ALSO FREQUENT THE PINBALL EMULATION WORLD.
for those who don,t..here is an emulator which is not so disamilar from ours.
i mean by that the basics are not different.. i e a rom set is needed then an artist comes in in and does the graphics.
before you all jump on my head i know the exact rundown on how to emulate and produce a layout....not as easy as fruity,s. scripting ect. months to get it to play never mind play as a machine.(i have done 2 and then gave up).
but here is an emulator... same coomunity as ours..same problems..emulator is far from perfect. yet the liscence has been bought and thrown the scene in to turmoil.......makes for good reading......

watch out fruity emu scene.lol

I would actually have thought that with the rise in video based fruits that one of the emulators would have been ripe for licencing. Site licences are based on number of cabinets but if a cabinet holds 10 different machines then you only pay the one licence duty. All the old 10p £4.80 jackpot machines fall into the cat D (10p £5 max jackpot) that do not attract a licence fee either but these have been written for that stakes and prize and not just a cut down version of the £25 jackpot version.

basically would you play a video based fruit with 10 machines like sonic, indy, andy capp, line up, and machines of that era with the actual roms?

i think at the moment all newer machines seem to be video lo techs anyways. seems to me would be a nice thing if WE GOTTA HAVE VIDEO to at least have video high techs. and a choice on the one cab.........

Damn f**king right I would, if they had independant RAM files of each other [which they surely must have].

I think that could be the one thing that could seriously provide a shot in the arm for the Pub AWP industry - allowing multiple games of multiple stakes and prizes of Hi-Tech amusement in a single cab.

I could play a £5 Monty Python followed by a £25 session on Shark Raving Mad, and wind down with £5 on King Kebab or something.

C'mon Barcrest et.al, don't give us this 50p/£35 jackpot shite, give us the the ability to choose our favourite machines independant of sites, and watch the money roll in.

What with 2Mbit ADSL lines in pubs, you could download the ROMs and a 'layout' file similar to that used in the emulator, so that if a game wasn't stored, the player could shove a quid in a machine while they waited for the download.

Just don't include a £4.50 text message 'tips' service

'Watch out for a hold after nudges, it can prove 'reely' profitable!' :P
